Response to CDC recommends delaying tetanus-diphteria vax |
|
While I believe that the request for delay is indeed because of a reduced stockpile (I can think of know other reason why the nazis would ask for a delay) I do think a lot is being left unsaid.
Can it be that when you go to the E-room after stepping on a nail and get a tetanus booster you are also getting diptheria? Last 2 times I got a tetanus shot there was no mention of it being a DT jab.
Could part of the reason for the delay be that existing stockpile of DT contains thimerosal, and now the CDC is unwilling to use it despite the FDA's refusal to recall?
Could part of the reason also be because parents are getting more savvy about the risks associated with DPT and are refusing it?
Curious how a simple action like this raises imponderable questions.
Here is one more question that this brings to mind (although it is a tangent): should FOIA cover situations like this, and should the CDC/FDA be held to full disclosure in matters of public health so that we can better understand the unspoken motives in their actions?
Curiouser and curiouser! | |
