Random numbers...

Suppose I take 10 numbers from a hat that contains a huge number of different numbers, from 1 all the way to 5,000,000, and they come out as:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10. Now, how in the world can anyone or any program determing that that sequence is not a truly random set? It was generated in a random fashion, so, it is a true, random set.

If my sample, above, is correct, I don't see how it can be possible to have any means of proving that it is, or is not, a random set.

Perhaps, as Ted has already asked, you have a specific definition for a random set, such that a set of rules can be deduced, or, better yet, you can establish the set of rules. Then, and then only, would it be possible for someone to try to use those rules to creat the pseudo-code logic and develop a qb program from it.
