Anybody know??????

Did anyone go to the friendly at Hemel Hempstead today? If so, any chance of info regarding the game/players who shone etc?

Also, does anybody know the state of play regarding the clubs floodlights? Last I heard, they were in need of (& to be honest judging by the state of them on Tuesday night it's no suprise!!)a complete overhaul & that it was going to cost in the region of £40,000.

If this is true, clearly the club does not have anything like this sort of money but I did hear that we were investigating the possibility of getting some kind of grant to assist us in this work.

As the new season will soon be upon us, I wondered what progress, if any, had been made. It is worrying to hear that we may not be able to enter the FA Cup because of their condition at present.

Perhaps somebody may have some information to share on this issue.

Also, has anybody heard what sort of side Crystal Palace are likely to be fielding against us on Tuesday night? Hopefully another decent crowd & entertaining game like the Calais match could be on the cards!!!

Finally, anyone know how the tickets are selling for the "do" in the centre spot after the Charlton game on 9th August. I am intending to go myself as I've heard this bloke is really good & it should be a good evening!!!

Thanks for any info anyone can provide re the above.

Hemel Hempstead Report Online

July 26 2003, 9:05 PM

A report for the Hemel game is now online. Basically an indifferent opening hour then a bit better when the subs (particularly Amadi, Glover and Davies) came on.

As for the floodlights, I'm not sure the figure is as high as you mention but there is work that needs doing. They are hoping to get a grant, which would cover up to 90% of the costs.

Good report

Not one of our better performances then

Ah well, these things happen. At least we did (somehow by the sounds of things) keep a clean sheet. But we seem still to have to organise that attack somewhat.

Still bring on Crystal Palace and then Folkestone. For the benefit of Anon I doubt it will be that strong a Palace side as I believe they have a friendly against some large club or another the following day. But should be worth popping along to anyway.

Report

What I wanted to say, but diplomatically rephrased, was:

"Hemel Hempstead's number 3 is a ****ing dirty, cheating *******."

I have some photos which I will add later (once I've picked out the ones that aren't blurred).

Gets like that sometimes. Looking forward to seeing the photos.

Matt Clements is doing the unofficial report today. Should be online in the next few days.

Thanks for the info guys, sounds like quite an eventful game!!!

I notice Nicky Dent wasn't involved today. Any reason for this do you know?
