CAM RANH AB CIVIL ENGINEERING

by

Sir , I'm French and looking for any means to get in touch with vets presents in CAM RANH AB from 1967 (maybe a little before )and who left in 1972.. I'm looking more especially for a man in his fifties who was a civil engineer and married to a doctor or physician. That man is now dead , but any information about him , and the place where he's buried is paramount. Thanks a lot for your help.

One of our own

by

I received a call from Joe Crowder last night saying that Jim Norris had had another stoke. Not many details but he broke his wrist as he fell. H was outside at home and Harriett was gone so he also was somewhat dehydrated by the time she found him. I tried to call Harriett this morning (8/10/05) but got no answer. I will try to get more details and post them.
Spread the word and lets all try to send Jim a get well card and a not of encouragement to his wife Harriett also.

Re: One of our own

I just talked to Harriett Norris, Things were not quite a bad as I had first believed. Jim had fallne fron the porch while Harriett was gone and did break his wrist and since he was not able to get himself up, he was out in the heat for a while. He is doing well, He is home and slowly recovering to where he was at the last reunion and is looking forward to Colorado Springs. Still would't hurt to send a card

819 th Reunion Photos

by

Gordon, glad you all had a great time. I did too when I attended the 819 th Reunion at Ft. Walton Beach last year. When I was there I took photos of the group, did you take any photos and would you share them with the RH Association. We would like to display them on the web site.
Thanks, Tom Gallagher, RHA Director

website upgrade

by

Hi Gordon,

I am writing you in the hopes of trying to upgrade the 819th site. First, I think a hugh amount of credit for the site's exisitance goes to Eddie Beckford and his wife Lura. But, I believe that the current site (Studio 54) with it's barriers to access may be keeping many of the troops from logging in.

I am COMPUTER DUMB, especially with regards to web sites, etc. But, as I have noticed, you look to be a web knowledgable guy!

So, believing that you or someone else in the 819th has the webite skills, there is an opportunity to make this a better site. A more user friendly site. And man, it would be great.

There may be costs in improving the site. But, I think that those of us who "honor" the days in the 819th wouldn't mind helping to pay for the site maintenance (assuming that it wouldn't be too costly).

So, I post this notice to ask you or another 819th family member to help to keep the site alive. The 819th was/is a great unit. I am EXTREMELY honored that God put me in the right place at the right time to be part of a great organization.

If you can suggest any means of improvement, it would be great!

George

website upgrade

Hi Everyone! Regarding the Studio 54 ads - if you have software to block pop-ups - it is not a problem.
Some Windows software have the ability to block pop-ups and also there is some free software available on the internet to block pop-up windows.
If you have it enabled - you will never see the Studio 54 windows. You can go directly to the bulletin board.
We are sorry that we do not have the time to work on improving the site: there is much going on in Israel at this time and we are under severe persecution - but please know we have not forgotten you!
We sincerely hope we can be at next year's reunion in Colorado! Love you all! Lura and Eddie Beckford

Hi

by

I sure would like to see more action with our site for a while it was going good. After the 1st reunion in Florida it has gone down hill. Does anyone have the paper work on the Presidental unit award that we are suppose to have? I hope all is well and I heard we are suppose to have a big all Red Hores reunion at Ft. Walton beach in Oct. Does anyone have info on that? Well have a good day and I will talk to you all later.

Talking

by

Ted, thanks for coming back. I never said I was 819 th. I am 555, 1968. I just don't understand why no one uses this site. It has all the potential and tools to be great. I see 819th members on the RHA and 555 sites but nothing here. I was at your 2004 reunion in Ft. Walton Beach and had a great time and made a lot of friends. Some of them were at the SE Roundup later that year. And some will be coming to the Florida REDHORSE Roundup this Feb. But someone needs to relook at this site and put it on the move. I'll jump off my soapbox now. I'm glad you came back so now I know I'm at least talking to one person. Where are you from Ted? Are you going to the Montana Reunion/ Come back, Tom Gallagher 555, Florida

Tom, I live in Reno, Nev. Not sure yet about Montana reunion. Your right about this site being underused, I'm as guilty as anyone, this was the first time I've looked at it in 6 or more months! It may pick up soon with the reunion coming up. More later. Ted
