Brian Dabul from Argentina appears in the rankings section as though the only tournament where he played was the Buenos Aires Challengr. However, he played Argentina F5 on a wildcard this year, although he didn't win any main draw matches. I tell you this because I've noticed that you count these first round losses at futures (judging from Juan Mónaco's entry).

Just thought I'd let you know

Dabul is ranked 1454 (and Mónaco 782)

Comment on Future first rounds

Nice to see your posting Euge.

The reason why you see Future 1st rounds in some players best 18 is simple. I started to read in that late this year. I have now read in match results in all tourneys but satellites. I have even read in qualifiers for all events but those. I am doing a serious attempt to put up player files for every/most players in a short time. And with player files do I mean something very similar to what Steve posts once every half year. I am currently trying to correct my database for misspellings and multiple names for the same player. To have that sorted out for main draws is almost succeeded now. I have that solved back to French Open and will try to do that for the rest as soon as possible. I hope that I can manage to sort the qualifiers as well out but that sounds like a really tricky thing to do so that is still doubtful. If I manage to do that will it be possible for you to spot even all results in future and challenger qualifiers for players like Brian Dabul and Juan Monaco.

If I manage to filter out the few discrepancies that I can find do I hope that I can solve the task of creating these player files. My aim is to have one file for every player or at least one file for a few players each in some way.

I hope that people are interesting in this because it certainly does take a lot of time to develop in the first place. But why settle down with what I currently have when I still have challenges left to solve? Once I have finished with this work will it be a pretty simple task to keep it updated. The current ratings are pretty easy to update namely.

To list every tourney that a player has participated in a smaller file is a simple task and I might settle down with that instead ...

To clarify what to come

Last message was a little long.

This is what I am trying to do:
1) Complete player files with all results. I have read in and filtered results for all main draws + qualifiers for CS gold and better tourneys with the exception of Masters Cup and Satellites though. Masters Cup could easily be added manually so that will as well be included in those player files.

2) I do not know whether I will include all activity including Future 1st rounds and similar in the points break down yet. What do you think is best? Only problem with including it is larger files which either means longer time to open them or more breaks in the ratings. What is best?

3) I want to include all qualifiers and perhaps even Davis Cup and Satellites as well in the player files. Whether this will happen are a later issue. I have read in all qualies already so I will try to post it in some way I hope.
