The state of metal

Metal seems to be on the decline once again with regards to mainstream/airplay.

The underground scene seems to be going ok but extreme metal will continue to struggle as always.

Not so much poor unit sales but folk don't go to gigs like they used to. It is hard getting decent gigs to play and turn outs are usually poor.

Any comments??
