"Lovin' A Marine"
Chapter 3

"I-I-Uhhhh. Gotta go," Shawn laughed nervously.

"Ugh, Shawn get over here." Belle groaned. "Listen why are you doing this to yourself? Huh?"

"Doing what?" He questioned in a harsh voice.

"Why do you feel that you need have sex with people you don't care about to make yourself feel better? You didn't even know Mimi's name!"

"Yea, I did," He denied.

"Shawn, why don't you call someone to bring you home?" Mimi suggested.

"Fine," he sighed and called Jason.

Twenty minutes later...

Shawn waited for what seemed like forever. Mimi and Belle were boring holes in him as they stared down at him with discuss.

:::Ring:::

Finally, Shawn though.

Belle walked over to the door and let in Jason.

"Meems, what are you doing here?" Jase asked as he ran over to Mimi and hugged her.

Shawn and Belle traded questionable glances..

"You two know each other?" Belle asked scrunching her nose with confusion.

"Yea, we hung out all night and tomorrow we were going out on a date," Jason said still holing on to Mimi.

Belle's eyes grew in amazement. Mimi was almost undressed with Shawn, while the whole time she was seeing someone else. "But, but, but you, and Shawn, and you and Jason?"

"BELLE!" Shouted Mimi, stopping Belle before she said anymore. "Why don't we make the guys some coffee?" She changed the subject.

"Um, sure," she followed Mimi into the kitchen.

"So, what are you doing here, man?" Jase asked as he took a seat on the couch next to Shawn.

"I-I--um. I'm friends with Belle." He lied.

"Oh, she was the girl that you were hangin wit at the bar," he laughed. "I remember her. So, did u get any?"

"No!" Screamed Shawn in frustration. "I was about to until...nevermind. Let's just go please!"

"Why?"

"We're leaving now! And that's that." Shawn whispered trying to maintain a good speaking level.

"Fine, but we have to say bye." Jason remarked.

"Well, hurry. I'll be in the car."

"No, you're coming too."

"Fine! If I do will you please speed it up?" Shawn demanded.

Jason pushed through the swing doors into the kitchen. "Ladies, it's late and we gotta drive across town, and plus it's a rental car, so we don't wanna fall asleep at the wheel and mess it up..."

"Okay, Jase, they don't need a whole explanation!" Shawn urged.

"I'll see you tomorrow night right Meems. With Philip and your friend Chloe?"

"Yes," Mimi smiled. "And hey, why don't Shawn and Belle come too?"

"No!" Shawn and Belle both shouted in unison.

"Why not? It'll be fun." Jase proclaimed. "If you don't go Shawn, then you're gonna have to stay home because we're taking the car."

"Fine. Can we just leave now?" He begged.

Jase nodded and gave Mimi a peck on the cheek. Shawn went over to Belle, making it look like he was going to kiss her, but only whispered in her ears, "I still don't like you little Miss Goody-two shoes." And then put on a fake smile.

"Well, this should be fun!" Belle said sarcastically!

The Next Night @ Mona's Resturante

Shawn, Philip, and Jason all waited patiently for the girls to arrive. It was already five after seven, yet they were all late.

"God, where the hell are they?" Shawn asked starting to get frustrated.

"They'll be here. Calm down." Jason urged.

"Whatever," Shawn mumbled. "I didn't even want to come. I can't stand Belle."

"I thought you said you and her hooked up the other night."

"Yea, well, we did until she didn't want to have sex with ME! Do you believe it? I have girls falling at my feet to get with me, and her, I give her a chance without her hardly even trying, and what does she do?" He paused, took a deep breath, and shouted, "NOTHING. Absoutly nothing!"

Philip and Jason started nervously behind Shawn.

Belle's eyes widened with horror, as she stood with Mimi and Chloe, hearing everything Shawn had just said.

Shawn watched as Philip and Jase stared off into space, when they should be cheering him on. Then it dawned on him. "She's standing right behind me, isn't she?" He laughed nervously.

He slowly turned around to be eye to eye with Belle. Her blue eyes started to swell with tears, but she told herself that she wouldn't cry over something silly like this. So, she just started at him some more, making what he said sink in like a cold ice cube in warm water.

"Belle..." He whispered. "I didn't, I didn't know you were there." He whispered. He pulled his hand up to her cheek and wiped away a small tear that had already fell.

Belle fervently pulled her face from him hand. "Was that all you saw in me, Shawn?" No answer. "Huh?" Her voice was loud, and everyone in the restaurant was hearing their argument.

"I am so sorry, Belle," He whispered trying to get all the cold stares from all the witnesses to find another focus point.

"So, am I Shawn. So am I." With that she turned casually and walked out the door with Shawn hot in her tracks.

"Belle, please wait." He shouted. He ran around the parking lot looking for her but couldn't find her anywhere.

Shit!

Then, he saw, her, the moonlight casting dark and light shadows on her tear stained face. She looked like an angel sitting on the grass, in the night, with her heartbroken.

How could I have done this to her? He asked himself over and over again.

He took a seat next to her. This time she didn't move or pull away, but just sat motionless, like a scared child.

"I never meant to hurt you. I'm just a bad guy. The kind, that a girl like you, should never have to deal with. I'm scum," He paused. "Actually lower than that, I'm like a flea." He laughed.

Belle softly let a small laugh out.

"You need so much more than me, Belle. So much more." He explained as he put an arm around her shoulder, to keep her warm, as a chilled breeze swept through the summer night air.

She moved her head so that they were face to face.

"But, Shawn, do you think you could ever be the good guy?" She asked.

He took in a sharp breath and asked himself the same question. Could he? "In time, maybe. If I think the right girl to show me, me."

"Shawn?" She asked in a whisper.

"Yea, Belle?"

"Do you think I could be that girl?" After it was asked, neither one could believe that she said that. But, neither one wish she hadn't.

He looked at her for a moment, seeing if she was for real or just a dream. "I--I--I don't know," he stuttered. "The other night, when I met you, it just sort of---I don't know. Something happened. Something that I never experienced before. I--I don't know how to explain. So, I'll show you," and before she could protest his lips came crashing down on hers.

The kiss was soft, sweet, and innocent, like all first kisses should start off. Shawn pulled her closer to her, with his arms around her back. Belle moved in too and put her arms around his neck, with her small fingers waving in her course hair.

Please tell me what you think by leaving feedback. It's a great motivator. Thanks
