This forum is a discussion group for those interested in the great explorer, James Cook.
Discussion includes, family history, news, and any questions or answers you might have on the man who explored the lands of Australia, Tahiti, and Hawaii.
I've recently had to delete all messages in this forum. There were literally five or six years of really good discussion, but going through and deleting spam from Lisa Williams and such was nearly impossible. I'm working to keep this resource clean and may be switching to a new forum service soon. Please excuse the mess. -Nate
The Queen
by Lisa Williams (no login)
I am not reading or watching anything more about the Queen. Quite frankly I believe she is the worst kind of person I know.
I do not like her at all, zip.
I want nothing to do with her or her family. I believe it is she who has created such a family mess it is not funny and I will have nothing, nothing to do with it.
Females have suffered over the years, women being beheaded.
I fought because I thought those days are gone. However, the repulsive Queen we currently have in power has returned which such under the carpet approaches, lack of sincerity and personally one of the worst kind of people I know.
Personally I believe she is as bad as bush, and I can tell her where to take her precious royalty, I believe it would be the same frase, shove it where the sun don't shine.
It means nothing. This was proven last year with her bastardisation approach, that she let the boys get away with a grand final of blue murder, trying to distance herself from who I am and the reality that she allowed to happen.
I am my own person, I will not marry her grandson, because I believe he is just as insensitive. He can take his cricket and shove it where the sun don't shine.
Thank you for the financial support nearly half a year ago, when I needed it and when it was just.
I believe hate is a very big word and I believe I have hate the Queen.

There is a professor who is giving a free public form on Thursday night in Melbourne.
I am concerned that if the Royal Society are indeed putting their name to the event that they need to be carefull.
Melbourne University who are holding the even along with the Royal Soceity recently announced that they were reducing the number of HECS, students with Australian Full Fee paying cources at Melbourne University.
Unfortunatley the Royal Society a long time ago may not have been particularly open to 'education for all!' Rather the fees that it cost to be in the royal society 'centuries' ago were prohibitive to keep education to a few.
I am totally against this theory and I do not see how it serves, either people or country. I believe it serves only one purpose and that is what we have come to know a 'sin'.
I believe the founder of the Natural History Museum in London, of which I have never visited was a member of the Royal Soceity whose foresight was for the education of the community. Hence exhibitions have been available to the general public for years and have been greatly extended.
I believe if you go back, one of the driving forces as seen docuemented in a Royal DVD, was the Prince Alfred, Queen Victoria's husband under her eye, turned England into the steam captial of the world which was a driving force in it's economic success throughout the world.
Prince Alfred, held a Public gather in the 'Glass Palace' I believe in Hyde Park?, to show case to the public, the industrial revolution, and to educate the community about science, mechanics the works.
I am very much against the once, and hopefully long gone attitude of the Royal Society which tried to hinder education and thus progress.
I am very much against full fee paying students.
If you look at Captain Cook he got where he was, because of skill, knowledge and hard work.
He came from a farming background, and earnt a seat at anybodies table. For anyone to even question, the authority of Elizabeth Cook, who upheld her husbands work after her children 'unfortunately died', leaving only her to carry on and uphold her husbands work. It is my Granmother who lived through a war, to uphold this in my father.
It is a pity he didn't choose to marry an academic, someone who'd tried and suceeded.
I am not my father or my mother, I have largely been independant for a long time. I even sort out their disputes when I was young.

I believe that the Da Vinic Code, was possibley deliberately planted in the media, to the be couteracted easily.
What however, I find funny is that it became the No. ! best selling book, year ago.
However, the truth is we have been following the wrong path. The path has been there for awhile now and this is the path:
The Bible Unearthed by Israel Finkelstein and Neil Asher Siblerman. I believe their account about the first Testament and the Archeological evidence about the first Testament as the authors acknolwedge the bible provided a huge number of places, names the works for Archeologists to work with and they have since for centuries and more recently in 1970's till today.
I believe the 'evidence' is unbelievable, evidence to basically change the entire meaning of what we call Christianity.
That is really was a made up mythical story with historical references and mixed up political tales....the archeological truth is there and extremely well referenced.
Professors and Academics from around the globe have contributed.
A very interesting and enlightening read.

I have been for the past few days working out of a library with a one hour time limit, which really ins't much. This means that spell check went out.
So I deeply apologise about Archeology
I believe it is and the spell check doesn't work on this program.
Archaeology. The work of many has indeed been amazing and the book about the knowledge we have about who the israelites, where, how they developed, as researched from archaeological diggings and serveys. The information gathered is truely right and well referenced and justified and has been agreed to by scholars globally, archaeology is a time consuming, and a study which has great respect.
Amazing long detailed research!

Renew there is an article in the 'Renew' Magazine october dec 2006 by Shaun Williams
Shaun is a mechanic and did work as a electrican in Mt Gravatt Brisbane.
What I find very interesting is that he by himself with no design qualifications has been able to build a car running on electricity the article is stunning.
'Probably the most startling revelation during the project was discovering just how dirty coal - fired electricity is.
There would be no CO2 emission advantage charging my car EV with coal fired electricity. But thanks to Energex's Earth Choice program I can buy a 'block' of green energy which allows me consume it from anywhere I plug in.
I pay the renewable energy industry $20 extra a month to pump 600kWh ( which drives me 1600 kmof green power into the grid. When and where I choose to extract it is up to me. It's like a prepaid mobil account, or should I say a green paid mobile account!
'I am always asked how far I can drive on one charge - fair neough question. I manage to drive over 200km per week and the only battery going flat is one the one in my carbon pumpin petrol vehicle because it doesn't get used much.
Renew issue 97 October Dec 2006
So Mr Howard can put this in his 'pipe' and smoke it!

I believe the Prime Minister, my father are more gay than me
by Lisa Williams (no login)
Why?
The tell tale sign is how they have worked from day one. Even given women in the military in the 1950's my father gave little credit to Australian females by who he chose to marry.
The Prime Minister has instead of admitting he was wrong and the subsequent consequences of his actions, he has therefore supported him.
I was talking to my friend about this and she said so your telling me that your father had to marry in line with his station. I replied 'yes' given who he was and that he had been to London University with Privalleges, London University was founded by the Royal family. That given the families knowledge of history 'circles' would have been aware who he was and indeed my Grandma.
So 'yes' my father had a responsibility no matter what way to marry, a successfull person.
This does not mean rich, this means either as I told me friend somewho who had worked from the bottom up and succeeded or someone who had worked from middle up and in an academic trail. Of which there were suitable people.
So I believe by showing support for male dominance in the workplace etc, you are supporting my father even given womens want back in the 1950's to be a part of the military which was 'cancelled on them'.
I therefore conclude that the Prime Minister by his actions, is more gay than I and it is only a result of the actions of my father and of others that I chose to acknowledge people who had not wanted to be prostitutes and I say good on them!
Posted on Oct 25, 2006, 7:26 PM from IP address 210.50.80.135
If you know that your father is responsible for marrying someone he shouldn't have, then you also know that you must sympathise with those he's affected.
I actually showed more courage than the Prime Minister in then 10 years he's been in power. You see I did not want to acknowledge the gay community at all, but I knew that if I didn't I would be shallow given history. Given who my father had married.
I'm sorry I do find the Prime Minister shallow, maybe he's like to have dinner with my fathers best man, becuase in reality that's who he's sleeping with given media laws and the sale of Telstra.
The Prmie Minister is 'gay' at heart given his actions, and is not backing Mrs Clinton who has fought to be a steady head in polotics given that her husband publically cheated on her.
That men in politics use women for their own purposes. Why do they say yes, because if they say no they get abused and have no money.
The Prime Minister with his politics is more gay than some of the gay men, I have met.

Hazlewood Power Station - The Prime Minister Again
by Lisa Williams (no login)
I am sorry that the Queen has such objections to my objections about Mr Howard, I believe I am well founded in my beliefs and Mr Howard has been made out to be a hero when years ago his ability to stnd up for our country was a 'joke'.
I do not regret any of the work I have done, I believ Mr HOward has done more to divide Australia and play dirty politics.
I do watch documentaries a lot, this is something my parents do also. You can understand my lack of love to follow anything that my parents do. Which is why mum has over the years developed a like of documentaries, to annoy me rather than anything else.
However, even when not living with my parents this was what I sought to do, read and learn, I spent my time in Vancouver library etc.
I'm sorry yes I am a nerd when it gets the job done, and I don't apologise for actually working either.
So Mr Howard it would seem is stepping on the toes of Victorian Politics. YOu seen the state government has looked at pumping emmissions under the ground from the coal fired power stations. It has recognised that Hazlewood is repulsive, I had a friend another engineer who was working there.
The Howard government have been absoultley 'digusting' when it comes to renewable energy.
It does not see benefits in wind power, when I believe my outline of the cost of brown ooal production was 'realistic' in saying tht it is actually comparable to brown coal once everything is added up.
I believe Hazlewood should be closed down and that the other liberal idea of a gasification plant actually gets a look in and a change in target to increase wind and 'actually look into tidal...all alternative energuy sources.
The Howard government just hates when a 27 year old girl can do a better job than a seasoned politician, who obvioulsy had the intersts of Australia's future at mind, and not his own hip pocket.
I believe my summary two months ago is that John HOard has made 'NO' significant contribution to this nation, as he has not fought any battle that was crucial to the welfare of Australians. GST, but then that wasn't really that hard.1 battle in ten years of service is not much, not when we produce gass guzzling cars, when as my friend cycling through europe wrote back that a diesel engine in germany runs of 3.5 litres per 100 km.
The Prime Minister has sat and done nothing. His leadership has been non existant, especially when it came to war.
No I do not like the Prime Minister. I do not support him, he has gone against everything I have stood for, integrity and the pushing of the economy into sensible and reasonable pathways.
I do ask the Prime Minister, maybe he would actually like to pay me for my work over the last year, I believe I've achieved a lot.
Yet Kevin Sheedy still earns...
When does someone lisen.
I do not agree with politicains pay rise when they do not deserve it.
Did the Prime Minister start having his monring walks photographed during a period when I was walking to school 45 mins there and back everyday.
Pity I can't do that now.
Plainly the Prime Minister does not deserve the statis he gives himself and quie frankly I believe under the situation of who my father knowingly married the Prime Minister has no right what so ever to comment on gay relationships in Australia.
If my father had have come to Australia and married an academic who was plainly around at the time, a family who had shown greater service to the nation, then yes the Prmie Minister would have a right to question my actions.
However, that did not happen, my father married a secretary, in a time when Margaret Thatcher was in Parliament. When there had been ove 120 years of Mr Robinson academic, girls school.
My fathers best man is gay, quite frankly I believe he has no right to be.
I beliee the Prmie Minister had not right to sell Teltra when he himself has a daughter.
Thing is I think this is funny but I hardly see myself as gay anyway, I just played with it becuase I had to, because I had to recognise females who had struggled in this nation. A nation that allowed women into the military then changed the rules.
I am over Mr Hoawrds games and that of the Queen herself, I believe she has without queston turned her back on many to enjoy a lovely ciuise here and there. I believe for her 80th Birthday she hired a yatch, an expensive one too. Ah, to be so lucky. Yet, it is the Prime Minister who is singing 'God Save The Queen'. I wouldn't.

I am trying to figure out the Casino story and why it was placed in Melbourne.
I do believe people who knew us knew that my Nan and Great Aunt liked to have fun, and I belive some people were jealous of this.
Personally from what I know of my nan and her twin sister, was that when I was young rub was a hard working perons and nan wan't really that much different.
When they were older they employed home help to give you and idea they had most of the cleaning down when home help arived and preferred rather to sit around and chat with the people who came in.
Yes, they did used to tell stories about how they were cheeky, but when they were tell me this when I was young they were telling me as if, have a bit of fun but it also wasn't right and rather to look at what they do currently. Smoking was the last of their resistance to being pretty good. It was very trendy when they wer young and it always stayed with them.
My nan and her twin did used to play cards and win, but when I asked them to play 'two's loose with me' they never did.
I actually don't believe I've ever played poker, but rather UNO, an abreviated version,
Although my family chose to go to the pokies to remember Nan, I actually believed it was wrong because not once in my life of being alive did I ever see her gamble.
SO I really think that people were looking for reasons, to be stupid.
The turth is that the stupid decision is obvious and although my Nan may have consented. I don't think she would have had a great deal of choice and I have a feeling it didn't go down to well.
I think it was clear what nan and rub thought, I belive ruby told me without being obviously very rude.
That is the truth.
So neither Rub or Nan gambled, yet they did have the best sense of humour without being realistic or thinkig that what they were saying was to be promoted. I believe they were telling me to make my own mind up, that some of what they did in a family of ten kids was wrong.
Personally though I like the story of sewing up the meat to serve to the family, especially when they were NOT at all allowed to work.

Struggling against all odds, to get an education, to be the best you can, not driving cars fast, working your butt off?
What exactly is Prince William receiving the aclaim for, I personally belive given the age and at this point in time that he will lower the standard of such an award and is not fair to those who have received the award off next to nothing and for years and years of service.
I am really wondering why? Or is the Queen trying to butter her Grandson up, I hope Zara, gets the same!

I am quite frankly disgusted at the Royal family for the reality TV program.
I bet your going to 'use' the media to show how 'hard' they work, well I'm sorry, everyone works hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Would the Queen like to join me with my crew of servants to 'help' loyal servants of the Crown, including women and including the safety of assets owned by our mutual countries.
The Queen may wish to fluant herself in reality TV, I do believe this is a misuse of media.
The Queen is not the only person in the world, their are Australians there are also people who like to know they have working conditions, people who work for best practice.
I find the Queen in her current status to be highly 'interesting'.
It is an abuse, if her job is also portrayed to busy to listen to Australians then Australia does not need the monarchy because we do need an independant person to be able to knock out laws which totally contradict the law, of equality and of fairness.
However, however busy the Queen, if she can't find the time after nearly a year about talking about Telstra to research and act, and this would include media laws, then quite frankly I find her role in Australia useless.
I am sorry the Royal family gets everything, mansion, servants, money and I think to be in everyones face even more through reality TV is an abuse. Maybe she got paid out by men who own media in England, for supporting the boys club in Australia, even though she is a Queen.
I am disgusted that someone could be so bitter and if I had a girl and a boy, I would not treat them with the contempt that she has, for many years.

Maybe it should be Melbounre University studying world history rather than American History.
I like my brother but my brother has a personal trainer, maybe Einstein is the figure here.
I think it is about time, that the world has a look at history. What I know is that to give credit, france is an exceptional country when it comes to the quality of goods produced, I would question their nuclear energy.
I would like to say that it was Germany who first Patented ammonium, which has make farming far more productive than our nations could imagine. As the history books read, they built their industries very closely around science as did England. Hense the collection of Cooks and crews goods.
It was the hard work of Germany and Hitlers theories were born from the royal society of both England and Germany, but where for England discreditted, some science, Germany took it on. It is without Question disgusting, there were indeed better ways of solving problems that those used. It was hideous but I will remind America that they were very much pinching science off Garmany during world war 1 and prior, as I believe America of all people had problems with the patent and trade agreement of Amonium , paint etc.
Please I wish people to read.
Mr Howard does not have a duty to America, he has a duty to Australia and to world nations, and if Australia needs to restructure with a bit of hard work rather than to sell things off and make the budget look good then I think maybe Mr Howard needs to do the hard work.
I may not have been inparliament for many years, but I have certainly listend and supported policy which I've agreed with.
Supperannuation was a big one and the GST, excluding tampons. I believe over many years I have listened to major policy, and all I see is many ideas being taken off.
Yes I do agree with public transport being free for students, until they can buy a car that works. I have thought this for a longtime, ever since I vistied sydney and their's were free. I really believe that is a policy both parties can take up. I do believe it puts the youth in a strong position to be able to save, and buy some of the things that do cost that weren't around when we were younger like mobile phones, which are safety.
My message to the Royal family is clear, I believe recent actions, have disabbled your power to be the figure that is written into our constitution. You are in affect meaningless and rather a group of people who parade around and do not interject were required and needed. You do not uphold equality which is what our nations are about given the history. The history which was forged by the execution of Henry's wives which lead to greater equality. Of Queens, Anne, Mary, Victoria, Elizabeth. Our history is one to uphold and the Queen has failed to do this, which brings questions to the relevance of who she is. I believe there are better Queens than others and this is a problem.

The sale of Telstra is a massive loss to our country. To the laws of Equality.
The men who own and operate the papers have for years abused rights of equality and have done very little to do anything about this.
Margaret Thatch may have said proir to 1979 that she was not a femenist, however, I bluntly disagree with this, I believe she was but didn't want to make waves.
What Mr Howard's party has done is enable a few bad men to have a monoploy of media, and does not do anthing about the doubling up of resources by competiting communication companies. I waked into Australia Post yesterday to see they were selling mobile plans for:
Optua, Vodaphone and Telstra. This is I believe a tell tale sign that we are encourgading overseas investment by the competition, we are encouraging the overuse of resources by doubling up cable, as optus lay their lines separate to everything else as with wireless. We see a mess of repeaters on the top of buildings which use and increasing number of requencies and also have a greater impact on our environment and are not necessary.
Instead of dealing with real issues, instead the government has palmed off responsibility.
I believe Mr Howard is recieveing insentive to side with America, and I believe this comes through the support given to his son's education, so much for being Australia. I leave you with this thought.....
Disqualifications for membership of Parliament
Section 44 of the Constitution disqualifies certain people from being chosen or from sitting as a Member or a Senator. These include persons who:
are under any acknowledgment of allegiance, obedience or adherence to a foreign power, or a citizen entitled to the rights or privileges of citizens of a foreign power
The sale of Telstra is not going to come back.

If Howard did the right thing we would have a drought
by Lisa Williams (no login)
If Howard did the right thing there would be no drought because he would have gone about measure to secure against it, which are possible.
Yet the poles are evidence of warming, and unless action is taken like signing kyoto, the PM has massive long term problems, this is not going to chanage, it is there and will remain. How to you unmelt ice caps.... Prime Minister Howard is interesting and his 'drought proofing has come a bit late don't you think'. Where is his kyoto agreement?

I believe like the others who are good friends, the french have chosen to 'miss interpret' cooks voyage and only 'quote' what they like.
If you read the transcript, it talks about several people having sailed around areas. It talked about another captain who believed there was a land mass between Africa and America which on the same voyage Cook dispelled.
I believe that the French are very wrong, yes Bouvet was in the region, but he did not map, chart or provide proof. New Caledonia which is currently occupied by the french was discovered by Captain James Cook.
Captain James Cook, discovered Antartica, until I read exactly what Bouvet had to say, which I'm in the process of doing, but what I have heard thus far as the french defence is a lot of something boloney.

Wouldn't it be nice is one decided that joining me to Antartica was more interesting than bingo.
Hey, I'd prefer to know how a diesel enigne is made than to play bingo.
There is no or little difference between bingo and gambling!
I can think of more exciting things to do. I think I'd prefer to see penguines mate, at least they have the practices down pat. No gambling where they come from, no luxury boats. Just plain swimming relationships.
