Response to Rim size

1965 Wildcat rims are a 5 on 5 bolt pattern. Really any Buick large bolt pattern will fit, however only 1965 wheels are correct for a few different reasons.

1964 wheels are the same as 1965 wheels with the exception of an additional ring on the inside of the wheel. That ring will prevent 1964 wheels from bolting up to a 1965 brake drum.

1966 - 1970 wheels will fit, but have a larger hole center - 2 1/8 inches .Vs 2 inches for 1965 wheels. If you are using the 1966 - 1970 cone style center caps you have no issue but the center caps are not correct for a 1965 car. (I have 1966 wheels and center caps on my 1965 Wildcat).

1971 - 198X wheels went back to the 2 inch hole size but have a different offset to the wheel to accomidate disk brakes. They do fit and will look correct to all but the well trained eye. Actually the same problem exists for the 1966 to 1970 wheels if they came off a disk brake car. Disk brakes were not available in 1965.

I have been told that the 1966 wheels could be disk or drum, and the way to tell the difference is by the paint color. Disk are black painted and drum are sort of a charcoal gray.
