Hello, me and my friends are building/have built cars out of domestic V6's to counter all the super tuned Honda's and Acura's and other imports in our city. My roommate has a V6 topaz that looks smokin' and turns 13.5 in the quarter!! Which brings me to my 2 questions. The car I am going to use is a '86 Electra Park AVE that I bought for $100 in MINT condition with low miles because someone blew the engine in it 10 years ago. When I got it, the tires still had air and the paint still shined!! Now what I wanted to do was to swap the current blown 3800 FWD with a 95 or so series II S/C'ed engine. I realise this would of course include the computer and tranny, plus other work, I just want to know if it would be a bolt in, or a simple fab job, or would it be a major deal? I cannot find engine mount info for the 86 ANYWHERE online, or any info as to weather or not Buick kept the same mount patterns for the 3800. I know clearance in the engine compartment might be an issue, but I will have a one piece carbon fibre front end put on as soon as the engine is done in order to accommodate any extra room the engine may take, and the 8" to 10" wide front tires. My next question is about bolt patterns for rims. What years and makes of Buicks share the same bolt pattern as my 86? Is there an 18" rim that Buick makes on any newer models with the same bolt pattern?? Or, if ANYONE knows some links to where I can find out ANY of this info, please let me know!!!
