Hi. I am confused over the torque listings given for a 64 Skylark 300 cu in V8 powerpack engine (cast iron block aluminium heads with 4bbl).

My GM Buick shop manual states 50-55 for mains and 65-70 for the rear. The rod bolts are listed at 60-75 but in the text state 40-45.

My 65 GM Buick shop manual states 110 for mains and 40-45 for rods. A copy from a 64 Lesabre manual shows different again for mains (but higher than 50-55).

The machine shop has no listing and needs the correct settings. Can anyone shed some light on my confusion?

cheers
