Widest tires I can fit on my 68 Skylark Convertable

I will pick up the car next week and want to do away with the whitewalls. What is the best/widest tire size I can fit on the stock rally wheels. I know that the rear wheel wells look narrow. Please help me with the best hight and width. Thanks

This question gets discussed at lot on the "Hides" section of this site: www.v8buick.com.
BTW, unless you are building a pure race car, I think that you're making a big cosmetic mistake to change to blackwall tires on a '68 Skylark (and I've seen and judged hundreds of them....)
