I was thinking of switching my 72 skylark custom 350 to a 455. I don’t have a lot of experience with engine work, but know some people that have a lot who are willing to help. They don’t know much about Buicks and I don’t know what kind of problems we might run in to and what all I would have to change. Like if I put a 400 trans. in it would the drive shaft be the wrong size and how the motor mounts would fit any thing extra that I would have to change I don’t know? If you have done this or you know anything about it any info would be helpful thank you!

I recently bought a 72 GS 455. I jumped into the muscle car craze without the knowledge I needed. I imagine you know the huge hp killer that came along in 71. I have books on the GS from 65-74 and can tell you a 70 350 has more hp than a 72 455. The pinnacle of GS hp was the 70 Stage 1--nearly 400 hp and 510 ft.lbs torque. This is what I plan to get my 72 back to and am currently looking for the right shop. I'm having issues with power windows on my car. Any info. on that???
