1990 Riviera running problem

Boy, this one has my mechanic stumped......he is usually great at diagnosing and fixing everything.

This Riv has a new mass air flow sensor, and a new tps; he has checked everything it seems, but the car is getting way too much fuel' it will rrun fine, then start bogging down, smoking, dying at stop lights. It could then go away for afew minutes, then right back to this issue..

Anyone have any ideas?
