I recently purchased a 61 Buick special basket case that I am attempting to put together. It seems to have a air cooled tranny and I have never seen one of these before and am looking for any info on them to make sure I put it together correctly. Thanks, Kid64

I have two 56 Oldsmobile 88's and one didn't have a tranny cooler in it and the other is still a mystery. The one had a Hydromatic trans in it. A very powerful tranny! I don't know about Buicks, but in Oldsmobile, 1956 was the last year this trans was offered. Does your shift indicator have Park on it? Dave

Do you still find the need for info on the 61-63 Dual Path trans? If so, send me a note VIA E-Mail. If not, please disreguard this message. Bill

ive got a 62 special wagon......i had a 4 door before and was having a 200r swapped...i guess theres a guy in hemmings that sells adapter plates....dont forget that in 62 they introduced a 4spd floor shifted trans for the special and skylark......also...62 was the first production v6...and motor trend car of the year.....oldsmobile utilized the aluminum v8 and bolted a big fat turbo to the top.........if needed ask lots of questions...ive had some time to research
