Hi can anyone out there help me with some trouble im having with my hard drive.

Ive just recently acquired an external hard drive for my amiga 500, I have no instructions and i assume it slots into the bay on the left side of the amiga after opening the hatch. when I turn the amiga on with the hard drive in the screen just goes blue, I have tried using the on/off switch on the back of the hard drive but that doesnt seem to do anything, none of the lights on the hard drive light up,

Do I need a seperate power lead for the hard drive?

Do I need to connect anything else?

But if there's a powerplug on the back, you can be pretty sure it needs a cord with some juice in it...

If its the Original Amiga 20mb HD, sounds like a jet taking off.. you need a power lead. also I think an install floppy, very long time since I seen one of those harddrives..
