Hi,

A friend of mine got a harddrive on his Amiga, but unfortunetly his Amiga has broke down so he can't retrieve the files he got on this harddrive which he very much want.
So is there any way he could connect this to his PC and get WinUAE to emulate access to this Amiga formatted harddrive from within Workbench? Or is it a little more complicated than that, perhaps?
Thanks for all help!

Regards,

You can read it in linux.

Linux has the amiga fast file system (affs) support, so if you connect the hd to a linux box, you can mount it and extract the information, just like a regular disk. You might have to recompile the kernel, though.

Then I suppose this will be a nice alternative way of retrieving the files from the Amiga harddrive in lack of a real Amiga then.
Many thanks for your help!
