Can somebody point me in the right direction. I understand the common language was BASIC so what variation of it should I use & with which compiler? Were other languages used for program development on the AMIGA platform? I appreciate all thoughts & suggestions. I had learned some rudiments of BASIC on an IBM PC Jr but that's about it.

Hi

The 2 main basics I can remember on the amiga were
AMOS and Blitz Basic 2, Amos was mainly designed for
Game development and was quiet easy to pick up, a few
commercial games were developed with it. Regarding
Blitz Basic 2 this was also aimed at game
development but I think you could do application
development in it (not 100% sure about that)
The original worms and skidmarks were developed in Blitz.
Another basic to check out is purebasic which is currently
available for the pc but the author started development
on the amiga and I think still supports it.
