Yes as I know there aren't any schools nowadays which require nude swim.I live in Europe and haven't heard here here about that.Was it common only in the U.S.?
Yes shirtless and underwearless PE might be a practice of Great Britain.I've never experienced it here in middle Europe.But it might be for the reason that I'm young.Maybe it was a practice still here too.When I tried jogging shirtless it was much more comfortable than wearing a T-shirt.It proves shirtless PE might be not a bad idea.More freedom of movement during intensive sports.
And what about our times?In our country schools are very liberal when it comes to PE kit.We could wear anything we want for P.E. in high school.
Shirts and skins game were common in the 90's here.I don't know if they are still or not in 2009.
