Freeballing or exhibitionism?

After reading posts on this forum and looking at Freeballing.com forums and galleries, it seems to me as if some supposed freeballers appear to confuse freeballing for its own sake with exhibitionism. Whaen you read posts about guys who take decency to their limits when freeballing in public, It makes me think they WANT other people to see they dont wear underwear and even worse want them to get a glimpse (or more) of their genitals!

Now to me freeballing is all about the comfort of it, and the private expereince of going around with no underwear (being a secret rebel if you like). Its not about parading around shoving your underwearlessness in other peoples faces, or worse being indecent.

At least this site doent have a gallery. Freeballing.com does have a member gallery, supposedly for members to post pics of them freeballing. This in itself id bad enough, but many of the pics are downright pornographic, showing guys penises in various states of arousal and even masturbating. Quite frankly if i wanted to see such images I'd go to a gay porn site! (I don't BTW).

You are quite right, Andrew. Different guys have different reasons for freeballing and some use it as form of advertising to attract sexual partners. Years ago TFF had a photo forum at Yahoo for members to post their photos but so many pornographic photos were posted that we closed it down. Those of us who enjoy the comfort aspects of freeballing are concern that such exhibitionism gives freeballing a bad image in the eyes of the public and only deter public acceptance of freeballing as a legitimate clothing choice.

ditto

I agree. My clothing choices are for freedom and comfort. And I LOVE the whole "secret rebel" thing. However, I hesitated at first to even comment because of the overwhelming number of people who seemed to use this option as a way to draw attention to themselves.
So, in short, nicely put.

Exhibitionism is not really a part of honest freeballing which, while it has a sexy component, is mostly about personal comfort. That said, I am definitely not modest and have no false body shame. I don't mind a small rip in my 501s or cutoffs that show skin; I usually levae a botton or two open in my fly; but I do not allow my "private parts" to show in public, other than the (covered) bulge that naturally occurs on a male. In private and with friends, thats a different story. Then I'm often naked. On a clothing optional beach, I am naked. On a textile beach, I wear those horrible board shorts. On this list I would not post a picture showing more than I would show in public. On other lists, I have posted naked pix of myself as appropriate to those lists. On some lists, I do not even mention my sexuality, though you friends here know I am gay and have a long term relationship. Simply stated, one must act appropriate to one's location.

My opinion -- I own it.

Hugz,
Bobby

While I agree totally that FBing is about comfort and freedom and that, ideally, it can be done without others knowing whether one wears UW, there is far too much modesty and false body consciousness, especially it seems in USA society. There is nothing wrong with a peak at a guys skin or penises if, for instance, they're wearing shorts. And there's certainly nothing wrong w/ guys showing nipples and other non-genital skin.

Bobby said
" usually leave a botton or two open in my fly; but I do not allow my "private parts" to show in public,"

Then what is the point of leaving the buttons open? The only reason is to show weiner. I cannot see any other reason.

If you truely wanted not to show your private parts in public you would close all the buttons.
Bobby's whole statement is contradictary in my opinion.

It seems contradictory on the face of it, but one can leave one or two buttons open without showing anything. The fun part is that other guys often look, wanting to be able to see more, getting their imagination going about what they might see if another button "accidentally" comes undone or maybe he sees it in just the right angle and lighting. It's just a teaser. Kind of like a woman wearing a short skirt so that guys watch hoping she'll reveal something more, but never does.

Thanks, Ken, for explaining that. I just didn't know how to respond. That's absolutely true -- I do generally leave the top and bottom fly buttons unbuttoned, and I do not "show" anything I shouldn't.

I think you're focusing on the wrong thing

June 26 2007, 6:40 PM

I know I was when I read it. I hit on "Two buttons undone." I'm like dude you're dick has got to be showing. I read through the thread a couple times, and it's top and bottom button. He's gay, I'm gay, and that's totally irrelevant. I gotta think women fine a treasue trail sexy. Top button undone show a bit more, not necessarily even a hint of pubes.

Come on, you'd have to know the brand and style of jeans to even comment what was showing. I've got a pair of STF levi 501's I could leave the top two buttons undone and you wouldn't see anything, pubes included. I also got a pair of gap boot fit, where I couldn't leave the top button undone.

I see it as a style choice. Do you button the bottom button on your polo, don't button it, button all buttons. Do you tuck in your shirt or leave the tails out?

He's not flaunting it, nor giving freballing a bad name. I freeball about 6 days a week. When I know I'm moving workstation and crawling under desks, I wear underwear. I's rather they see 2xst than think I'm a plumber.

Regarding the bottom button. Well, I've missed the bottom two on occasion and not realized it until I got home. For exposure bottom buttons don't factor in. The placket is held in place by the buttons above and no one would know. Well, if you had 10 strainging inches, maybe. . .

Your points are well taken, however I still feel to avoid any accidental exposure closing all the buttons is best.
Thank goodness I don't waste my time with those horrible button flies . Zippers for this boi.

Are WE forgetting about "gravity"????

June 30 2007, 5:33 PM

I don't know about y'all, but my equipment is subject to that mystical force known as "gravity", where things tend to be oriented toward the ground, unless some "other force" moves them otherwise. Add in the basic anatomy course, where we know that external male genitalia are located below the belly button, and it becomes pretty hard (no pun intended) for any male genitalia to be seen when a zipper is left open or the bottom button on button fly pants is simiarly open. Some of y'all might be architectured differently, but that's the way it appears to be (thing hang when not motivated to do otherwise).

On the other hand, when I wore low-rise briefs, underwear fabric (especially when white or a lighter color) WOULD be obvious if the zipper/lower button might be open. What might be more obvious . . . white fabric or darker hair?

Typically, an open zipper would be more revealing as the placket would typically be thinner and more easily folder back during certain activities of the wearer (as in sitting down or bending over). On the button fly denim jeans, there's more fabric to have to bend (for ANY reason), so especially if you're reasonably lean, no particular reason for the double-thickness button fly placket to gap open, much less bend out of the way.

When I first read about the buttons being undone, I thought it was about leaving the one or two top buttons open. Many guys do this, by observation, even straight guys when they're going to be sitting down (casually) at home or with friends. NO sexual connotation as such, as most of these guys are straight and more interested in comfort than otherwise, I suspect--plus possibly casually showing their underwear or lack thereof (or that they are wearing low-rise rather than normal underwear), or a jock.

Otherwise, sometimes the "button undone" thing can be a silent code of sorts?

I never did get into the button fly denim jeans thing. It seems to be a lot of "build thickness" in that area, too, which can do what the padded briefs only try to do! Still, on some guys they look significantly sexy! Be that as it may.

I concur that some might be focusing "on the wrong thing", but also forgetting about some basic physics in the process too. And, if the wearer is letting the pants sag too low, then it'll be really dark down there, so less probability of "showing" then too, unless there's some hidden light down there, hehe. Let the jerking knees return to their normal relaxed state, please.

I remember some posts in here, a goooood while back (even pre-beans!) where guys thought it was their right and priviledge to let everybody know what was under their sweat pants, in places like shopping malls and such. Something that males "just did", it seemed, although it was highly inappropriate for them to do so. Some likened it to females with large breasts going braless under t-shirts, with hard nipples showing, with would then relate to sexual equality (to them). Yet, there are some double standards that we, individually or collectivelly, can't really alter or change. The peoples' minds they were trying to change just retreated into their safe haven of their own orientations (which THEY perceive as right, with those doing the exhibiting being wrong) and nothing changed for the better, but went the opposite direction.

Whether we might freeball under sweats, linerless running shorts, baggy knee-length shorts, or whatever, there needs to be a certain aspect of appropriateness of those garments for where their takes place--which CAN change from one time of day to another, at the same place. Sometimes, these inappropriate "times" and "garments" can be covert "advertising" or it can be an indication of the particular person wanting justification as a male and acceptance of such by others. Many side issues, possibly, other than just comfort and "the incognito rebel" factor.

Enjoy!

Re: I think you're focusing on the wrong thing

June 27 2007, 5:04 PM

Maybe it depends on size, but I almost always leave the lowest button undone on button flys (flies?), and I assure every member of this forum that I'm not aware that any part of my genitalia has ever been exposed as a result. This really is less immodest than practises by many others with respect to clefts between breasts, butt cleavages, etc. It doesn't give FBing a bad name. Au contraire, it makes some FBers sexy.

Not even showing from beneath shorts with wider legs gives FBing a bad name.

Zippers!!!

June 27 2007, 8:55 PM

CoolBoi,

Zippers? Dude, I admit I have lots of jean and 2 have zippers. Zippers confuse me. I'm so used to, when ya have to, undoing a button at the most 2, that I unbotton and then there's this metal thing. Shit, button the button unzip, whip out, shake, retract, then a serious ouch. I'm clumsy, but I don't get "Ouches" with buttons. I applaud the fact you're more coordinated than I am.

Hey, I'm not a wimp, I freeball with zippers, I just do it as infrequently as possible. But guys, you're freeballing, you've had a couple, you're in a bar. Bad scene. Trust me.

My guys are currently quite happy in my STF 501's.

When I go to a bar, in my wallet the amount I'm willing to spend for the night and now more. Excess cash and cards at home. Kids are in cozy button flys. I can enter a bathroom with out fear of shrieking due to a drunken accident once I'm done.

Ouch with zippers

June 28 2007, 1:08 PM

I agree with you on the zipper thing. But that hasn't changed me to 501's.

I am uncut and my skin sometimes bunches up at the head. Have caught that in the zipper a couple of times. And painful it is. Usually shout out.

But I must have learned to double check as I don't anymore. Must be, as even in my drunken state, I remember to make sure that everything is shoved in there before I zip up.

I been freeballing with zippers for 25 years and maybe I'm just careful- or lucky- but I've never caught my dick in one.
It seems very simple to me to shove it in and to the left out of the way before zipping.

Re: I think you're focusing on the wrong thing

June 29 2007, 12:36 PM

I wear 501s. I said I leave the top and bottom buttons undone. I assure you that I do not expose any of my genitalia. (I also assure you that I do NOT have ten inches.) I still think zippers are potentially dangerous and prefer the button fly.

I am not an exhibitionist, though I have no body shame. I do not consider nakedness an equivalent of a sexual act though I know that many people do tend to make that assumption. I do prefer to be naked when sexing, but that is not the point of nudity. When I am naked, it is a comfort issue, like freeballing. Neither are sexual acts in and of themselves.

Hugz,
Bobby

What's comfortable!

June 29 2007, 12:48 PM

Well put!

While there's a certain onus and social pressure to conform to norms in all societies, there's no need for body shame or to go to unusual lengths to hide one's genitals. In many societies, men wear or wore unbifurcated clothing, usually w/o UW. Cod pieces in times past were designed to accentuate the male package. It's only in modern societies that the wearing of UW or bifurcated clothing have become almost universal.

Well gays may enjoy this peek-a-boo game but what kind of message does it send to the 90% of people who aren't gay?

I don't want my freeballing being assoicated with sexual tease and exhibitionism.

Freeballing or exhibitionism

June 24 2007, 6:03 PM

I agree with you,

I do not concur with exibitionism on purpose; it gives a bad image of freeballing. I ve been freeballing since child, and it happened I have been exposed in short shorts, as shorts were much shorter than now, and I have gently been teased about it. Anyway I do freeball by pure comfort, and without any sexal minding, though I must admit it has eased things in the past, as really greatly welcome by girls, regarding this daring and rebel.

For me going commando is about sexual excitement. I've never made any allusions to it not being. I'm sure there are a few members on here who think the same.
