Has anybody had a job that let them be nude while working? Wondered if it was the usual way, or could be at home.
Had a funny incident a couple years ago, just after the disaster in New Orleans with Katrina. I had gone down on a mission trip to help with the restoration of some of the damamged homes, and as two other persons and I went to this location in the Violet area, we knocked on the door of the house that we were to help deconstruct. You could hear somebody inside working, but they didn't come to the dooor, so we walked in and found one man naked and tearing off the sheetrock in one of the rooms. He appologized for working without any clothes on, but it saved on damage, and no clothes to clean again. He had a good laugh, put on some shorts, and then we helped him with some of the tearing off of sheetrock and insultation.

Well, yes, but strictly unofficially. I've been nude several time here in the office on Sunday mornings. It is a lot of fun but very distracting until you get used to being naked where you are usually with other people and frankly I didn't get much work done. I've done it a couple of times in response to what amounted to a dare from other people I'd been corresponding with that began on some now defunct message board. This is a large building and one time I roamed around all over the building, just so I could say I did (I did). And the other time, I even drove to work naked. Crazy both times.
It was still fun though. I will tell you that all your senses are on high when you do something like that. For a relatively new steel and concrete building, it will creak and pop like an old frame house when you are all alone and naked. If I only had a partner!
I've also worked naked at home, finishing off the basement. It is entirely safe doing most things, though I wouldn't paint without wearing something. I used to spend a lot of time at home naked and sometimes my wife would too. But she didn't work naked. Come to think of it, she didn't help me at all!
I wanted to thank god I didnt

Where I work, it is a lot of young people but on my shift I am the only one there. I had talked to a guy about being a little crazy at work. Recently they updated our cameras and I had read about another guy watching his employee jacking off in his office from the boss's home. Well we had to sign a paper saying we realize they were video taping as well as listening to us. We just found a mic and found out the new system is on line so they can watch us from home.. WOW am I glad we chicken out on our thoughts!

When I was in college 73-77 I worked for my dad in RE business. In addition to regular RE business he would end up buying, fixing up and reselling a couple of houses a year. During those years it was my job to do the inside, cleaning and painting stuff. This is hard work and from the 1st day 1st house I immediately stripped naked to do this work, alone and in a vacant house. I looked being naked doing it and it was much more comfortable.
My dad knew by then that I never wore underwear and always slept naked. I was always very open about it with him. He did the same but did wear drawers some of the time. He was still pretty amazed seeing me barefoot/starknaked working on the house but that was the way I was going to do it. Loved doing that and have always done painting and minor house repair things completely naked. Couldn't do that for a living though - it is work.

Gee, Thumper, I should have been on YOUR mission trip. I have been to both New Orleans and MS several times since Katrina to help with demolition/reconstruction, but never had an experience close to that. Not sure what my church brethren (will not mention the church affiliation) would have thought of that!

While working my way through college in the 1960s I had a weekend job babysitting a TV transmitter. It was a easy job and I worked alone out in the country and because it was usually hot there (those old transmitters made a lot of heat) I wore minimal clothing- and yes- sometimes nothing since I was big into clothesfreedom in those days and it seem like a fun thing to do with a otherwise pretty boring job.

Great thread! My job has cameras all over the building. We are very much aware of their presence. However, I do work from the house often and wear nothing. I enjoy the expanded freedom of having no clothes and just bare skin. Often wished I had a farm or cabin in the country where I could just wander about, enjoy nature, and be totally clothes free.

40 years ago when I was having my nudie fun TV cameras were big expensive bulky things. Today modern CCD technology has made them so small and inexpensive that they are everywhere- even when you don't see them they can be hidden in clocks, smoke detectors, air-vents- most anywhere. And police and insurance companies encourage business owners and even homeowners to have cameras to aid in the capture and prosecution of criminals. So not to make anyone paranoid, but you have to assume you may be being watched or recorded anytime you are in public now.

Yes, camera's are everywhere. Places you would not think they would be. Remember a couple of years ago a police helicopter in NYC was doing panning around for a major event. I don't remember the event. They "accidently" caught a couple on their rooftop at night engauging in adult activity. Then proceeded to air the film. It was a infra red image so you could not see their faces. You could certainly understand what they were doing. There were questions all over the place at the time. Is you secluded rooftop a private places? Can footage from police helicopters be used for looking for people engauged in sex?
Big Brother is watching! Watching from places we would not dream......

I luv working nude. I'm lucky that I currently live on a 160 co-op farm (5 households that are permanent residents and ~15 that are occasional, weekends, etc.) that's also quite isolated from almost everything (3.2 km drive to the paved road; surrounded by over 900 ac provincial park at the tip of a small island) and can be nude most of the time in the summer. We're just coming off a beautiful summer, and at one time a few months ago, I went 24/7 w/o clothes for about 6 weeks. I'm almost always naked at home and am also that way when tending crops, animals, etc. In summers I'm often only clothed when visiting other households on the "residential ridge." There are a few tasks I won't do nude, but not very many.
I also recall once working as a political ass't to a minister of the Crown and finding myself working weekends in our offices, which were on 2 floors of a private office building where the AC was shut down on weekends. I frequently worked nude when I was the only one in the ministerial office. One day, the permanent sec'y knew I was in and came to discuss something and found me starkers. He said not to be concerned. He frequently worked nude on weekends himself.

Sounds like a piece of heaven on the farm. I would love to have a place like that. Great to just enjoy nature with no clothes and feeling the air and sun on your body. WOW! Thanks for posting.

I lived on a farm for a while when I was in high school and although I didn't exactly work nude anywhere, it did give me a lot of opportunities to be nude in the woods. That's where I really got my start with outdoor nudity and it has really been the best place of anywhere since (and I'm now in my 60s). It was the best place in the sense that I was able to roam around all I cared to (though I had to take care) without taking any clothes, like shorts, along with me. Since then I've done a few very long hikes entirely nude and have always attempted to hike nude at least for a while anywhere I thought the risk was managable.

I'm also in my 60s. While I lived in large cities throughout most of my working life, I grew up in small towns and have always liked being nude when I can. I've lived full-time on the farm only since my retirement a little over a year ago. It's interesting that I luv being nude enough that I keep taking on greater risk at being seen. The provincial park that surrounds our farm on three sides is busy enough in the summer that I almost always encounter park users. None have ever reacted negatively to my nudity. The only thing I don't do in the nude in high-summer is go to the main beach (the only sandy beach on our island) or around the 2 nearby campgrounds. There's a BC Parks host that I think would look dimly on it. While she hardly ever leaves the beach-camp area, I have encountered the park wardens who range all over the park, and they certainly don't care.
Re: Risk management

Interesting title to your message. Sometimes we who like to be nude forget there is risk involved. Usually, however, we are more than aware of the risks.
I agree that you start to want to be nude so much that you begin taking more and more risks. The whole thing, the motives and what you do, starts to become very complicated, but basically, most people don't have the right combination of circumstances to be able to go naked as much as they would like. So we compromise and we take risks. Sometimes the risk is considerable, other times nothing to worry about but there is always risk and it is real. I can think of a few trails in a national park about 75 miles from here that I've hiked nude on (Well, actually I've hiked nude on all the trails I've hiked on up there) and some are usually busy and therefore risky, others always lonely and virtually risk-free for nude hiking. Of course there's a reason some trails are lonely. They go nowhere, are exhausting and don't have a view, so they aren't especially rewarding to hike on. But other days I've hiked on some popular trails and met no one. Good luck is indespensible.
I could go on and on about nude hiking but this isn't the right forum.

I do housework chores in the nude, such as vacuuming, washing out shower and bathtub, painting ( with latex only), laundry. Once was outside chopping kindling when visitors arrived at our previous home in the country, big laugh there!
Have several sculptured trees in backyard that I trim while nude. Neighbours on both sides have seen me and wife many times, they are fine with it, they are a decade younger then us. They laugh that we are old hippies.
Also have washed and waxed our vehicles several times ( in backyard )while nude. Always freeball while doing any outside yard work. Have noticed many guys on weekends doing DIY projects, come into the building supply freeballing.
Trimming the " fall harvest " while nude is a great idea as trimmings don't stick, and clothing don't smell afterward.

I sometimes go to a Korean spa - they keep the place very clean. The folks that work there will strip nude (meaning take of the shorts they generally wear) to clean the place.
Got caught once

One time, I was doing montage on a camp site in France, working for a holiday company who rented out pre-erected tents to holidaymakers on block-booked pitches. I was setting up and cleaning the stuff inside a tent. It was quite warm out and it was hot work, so I was wearing just a pair of shorts. I spilt detergent solution on them and as there was nobody else around, I just took them off and carried on working totally naked.
I surprised a female colleague when she came in to borrow something .....

Thanks for the stories about working nude on house renovations. I stripped down to my lo-rise briefs once while steaming wallpaper off an office wall, and the coworkers didn't give me any grief about it. They were probably jealous that I was so free.
What other types of naked-friendly work is there, especially nude jobs? I saw a YouTube recently of a social director/maintenance guy at a nudist resort, and have also heard of a guy who had a summer job on a kibbutz in Israel where he working in the fish hatchery and was nude 24x7, and a guy who worked nude on an archeological excavation.
I WANT TO WORK NAKED, AND GET PAID FOR IT!
I met a guy online once whose house abuts a national forest. He can walk out his door naked and be in the forest in about twenty steps, and hike nude for miles and miles all day long. That would be heaven on earth! Did a five-mile nude hike just yesterday, and a nine-mile nude hike last week, both with other naked budds. FUN.

Love the hiking stuff. Wished I live in that locale. Totally agree that a house adjacent to a national forest would be heaven indeed!!! Thanks for sharing the experiences.
Working naked and getting paid. I vote YES!!!
How about a provincial park?
|November 13 2009, 11:39 AM |
While it's not a national forest (don't exist in Canada), our 160 ac farm is surrounded on 3 sides by another 900+ ac of provincial park. This in turn is bounded by private forest lands totaling as much as 8,000 ac. I have a 22 km running and cycling route that has no dwellings on it (I do it nude in warm weather), although I do occasionally meet up w/ park or recreational users.
