So was the wire you disconnected white? The mecury race tech told me it is white. I don't believe I would disconnect my rev limiter. I would like to see how much speed comes with just another 1000 rpms. From what I have read... speed with a jet takes 10 to Nth power to obtain just a few more mph.

So the manual says only cyl #2 is retarded... and from your investigation... all cyl's spark is effected at a point. That is very interesting because thinking of #2 fighting all others doesn't make much sense. You would think the powerhead would destroy something when the pump comes out of the water.
