Open the hatch and get a friend to watch the throttle cable move on the 240. You should be able to determine if it's working properly.

Another thought, I would get the jet back to the shop and tell them what happened. They could have screwed something up.

Whatever you doo... don't try using it again until you identify the problem.

Be sure to verify both oil caps are tightly secured. If either are open, no oil will reach the 240. This would make a lean situation and possibly rev the engine.

Another possibility is the steering assist controls. If they monkeyed up the cables... it is possible for the 240 to rev a bit, but not WOT. Again, a quick visual check to verify is easy enought.

Because the throttle linkage and steering assist are basically mechanic controls... it should be easy to determine where the problem resides.

I would also check to see if the throttle cable is even attached on both ends.

ps. I once went to grab the Forward/Reverse level and got the throttle instead while docking in a marina. I wanted to put the jet in Forward, but instead I forced the throttle to WOT while in Rev... the rear end of the jet climbed the marina wall. No harm done... but, I was 7 shades of red. Now, I never take my hand off the Forward/Reverse level while docking. I learned the hard way. LOL

I am anxious to learn what is wrong... Doo provide feedback
