Saw this in the news today. I have mixed feelings about this. It is true that the Olympic committee should never have granted the Olympics to a country with a poor human rights record, but since they did it puts athletes in an awkward position. Elvis' hair sure looks different. I guess I haven't seen him for a while. I hope he grows it long on top again.

On another skating forum they are trashing Elvis.Because of his opinion.In the article he says athletes should think about boycotting.Not that he's demanding athletes boycott.Sorry it makes me made that someone is trashed that has done so much for figure skating and also repesented his country in the olympics.I'm off my soap box.LoL I like his hair longer too.

Well, good for him. He has always been a man of integrity and that came across very well. He's right, that the human rights record of that country is not good. It doesn't match the Olympic ideal by a long shot. Thanks for the interview link. Even artists were underground and were considered religious pollution in the country until recently. It is really sad and I hope and pray that having the Olympics will somehow encourage change there.
