I have to say that I am extremely disappointed in some of his comments. I think there is room in men's figure skating for all styles, and Elvis comes off sounding bitter, arrogant and a tad homophobic. Skating has evolved since he left the sport....and the smart competitors know how to get points in the new system and use that knowledge to create wonderfully complex and interesting programs. "Masculinity" shouldn't enter into it, and certainly doesn't equate with being able to perform a quad. Sorry Elvis, I'm not with you on this one.

Everyone should be allowed to state opinion. And even if the sport has evolved, the viewership is down and Elvis was just giving his views on why, I wouldn't class him as phobic or bitter. When he used to skate he used to get ripped to shreds by skating fans, judges, and other coaches for his skating style, his look, his name, his mullet, so does that make them Elvis-phobic? No, they just didn't like it, or him. C'est La Vie.
I've read a few of your posts on the other boards, you've never been an Elvis fan, so the fact that you don't agree is not shocking, though you did come off a tad Elvis-Phobic.
Thanks, pupizech. Of course I am an Elvis fan, have been for more than 10 years. If someone is posting somewhere with this name who isn't, it's not me. This is the first instance where I have vehemently disagreed with Elvis' opinions. It makes me quite sad, but I still love his skating, and hope he does get himself back on the ice soon!
Luckiest on fsuniverse look at page 11 ABC News: Figure Skating Gets Macho Makeover thread.Someone is using your name there.Elvis is entitled to his opinion. My thought on it is people are jumping on Elvis.Like he started the whole thing. There was some reason he was interviwed.Skate Canada needs to take responsability.
No, that's me, I just happen to really disagree with Elvis' opinion in this instance. I was upset when I read his comments because I am a fan of many other figure skaters, who maybe don't skate with the same style Elvis does. That's all. I still enjoy his skating and I still host a web site about his competitive career.
