Social nudism is a sort of unusal pasttime -- most who take part don't advertise the fact among all their acquaintances and coworkers so you may know nudists without even realizing they are nudists. There's trust involved in sharing that info with those around you.
That said - it's an enjoyable and relaxing way to spend time - unclothed out under the sun or in the commpany of others in a hot tub or pool. Some like what they call "independent nudism" - no formal club membership or affiliation. Others find it easiest to connect with others via membership in a nudist club, membership in a landed resort or through one of the national groups.
Locally there are several groups - Lake Edun in Topeka is a landed club - they own property with a swimming lake and sandy beach - info via the web at www.lakeedun.org and here in KC there is a group known as the Heartland Naturists which sponsors private swim parties and other functions. Have some specific questions - email me or post them here -- the only way to know how social nudism fits with your own likes and interests it to read up on the topic and give it a try. The web is full of websites about nude recreation - probably one of the most popular topics on the internet in fact. Lots of material about it from various perspective is online - a little investigation will give you a more info.

Even though we live in Iowa, the Heartland club was one of the first I made contact with and we attended one of their swims last nov. Then we attended another in Feb and have since found 3 nudist groups in Iowa. Un fortunatally in Iowa the clubs cannot own land so these are travel clubs that meet in peoples houses and go to great resorts like the ones in MO & KS. But we couldn't wait so after meeting with the group in central IA in Feb (50 attended) we invited several to our house and have had up to 12 for hot-tub parties and good clean socializing. We have met many nice people and my messege for you is to not wait, spring is here, try one of the heartland swims or other events, I know you will find several great people to talk to. We are now planning on several summer activities including hiking, biking, etc. Hope you find some fun.

Iam here in New Mexico and 61 yrs old and like going naked a lot / single and have a room mate that isn't into going nude. I would like to go to a nudest place here and know what to look for and how to go about getting naked and when you can and can't go naked.I live in a small town and so can go any-where close / just about any time. Would like a naked friend that we can go and be naked when we can. Please advise me on antthing I should know. Thanks Larry

The Naturist Society publishes a book called "The World Guide to Nude Beaches and Recreation". This book is almost all inclusive. It lists the best nude beaches and resorts.

hi pam. There is a local place close to Bonner Springs that allows nudism on their grounds. I know the way there but could not give you written directions. If you want more info e-mail me back. The area has camping,a swimming lake, and hiking trails. Very enjoyable to be outside in nature nude.
I saw your reference to a place in Bonner Springs. I think I know of it and used to swim there as a kid years ago. It was located off K-7 and I-70 and at teh time was named Cutty's. Is that the same place? Is it open to the public or just club members?
