This Message Board

We've had good luck with this Network54 message board system but a word to users - free internet services come and go rather quickly -- and sometime shutdown without notice.

If you find this Board missing in action - first give it some time and try again. It could be normal server maintenance or a comms glitch. But if the Board is down and stays down for a day or two go to the Heartland main website, http://wwww.sky.net/~rjw/heartland.html and look for a note there about a new or alternate message board.

If you don't keep track of the club's main site just Google on "Heartland Naturists" and you'll find a link. Or visit the new FreedomXpress website at http://www.freedomxpress.us/ where a link is now listed under the ARTICLES header on the right under "Kansas City Area Nude Recreation".

A couple of times in the past we've experienced a disappearing message board. I'm not forecasting it -- just giving a tip in case the Board comes up MIA and seems to stay MIA at some point in the future.

The daily visitor count on this Board has risen with warm weather and frankly with more posts to the Board -our daily average is around 70 visitors and 422 page views meaning each visitor is checking on average about 5 posts. The hit count isn't huge compared to the Drudge Report but still it shows the Board is a significant resource locally and your posts are seen and absorbed by quite a few area and worldwide naturists - so post away.

Real names are encouraged but nicks are ok -- we do ask that you represent yourself accurately and stick with one nickname in order to avoid confusion. It is not necessary to log in in order to post even though that option always shows up via the posting screen. And registering a username and logging in allows you to edit a prior post to correct typos, etc so there is a benefit.

Info later on the Sun Run which took place yesterday, Sunday July 13th, 2003. Another good event and a great turnout - weather and course couldn't have been better.

Difficulties with Web Hosts

July 17 2003, 11:09 PM

AMEN!

The past week my web host for www.freedomxpress.us was down in excess of 50% of the time. New users were unable to register and get email confirmation. One week of that was enough.

freedomxpress.us will be down for a few days until I can transfer the DNS over to PHPWEBHOSTING, and rebuild the site.

I have had another web site running flawlessly on PHPWEBHOSTING for over a year. Tempted by lower prices in a highly competitive market, I would simply tell you if you pay less than $10 a month for your hosting service don't expect the service to be responsive to your support request or keep you up and running.

The Host I just fired (surpasshosting) basically implied to me that for the price they offered their hosting they did not feel compelled to provide good support service.

Bottom line, if you have a service that works and isn't broke leave it alone, even if they raise your rates it is worth not having to deal with the headaches that will come with "Cheap" service.
