Here's the forecast for Kansas City on Thursday January 20th, 2005, Inauguration Day:
Thursday: Partly cloudy, with a high around 43
Now that's not the best forecast for hiking nude but it's also better
weather than we've seen in the past week - at least the high is well above freezing.
If my plans work out ok I'll be back in town Wednesday night and able to take part in the Thursday's Inaugural activities which could either be termed a 1) celebration if your guy won or 2) boycott and protest if your guy lost. Either way I'm still mostly "on" for a nude hike - it will be rather sort - at the time of the Inauguration - that would be 12 noon Thursday 1-20-05 Eastern Standard Time or 11 am Central - it will likely be in the mid to upper 30s - pretty chilly but nobody's saying this will be a 12 mile hike - maybe a half mile hike to span the ceremony itself. That's about 8 minutes at walking pace.
The place? Haven't decided and that might depend on other participants. If I'm solo I'll likely go to Smithville Lake and do a discreet hike around the perimeter of the field abutting Heartland Cove - that's fairly convenient for me. If others want to take part and make a bigger deal of it then we could go over to Camp Gaea or Lake Edun. Either place would likely be surprised to see any visitors signed in. At Gaea a circuit of the upper grounds would suffice. Or given the time of year there are probably quite a few closer-in trails in the metro that will be unpopulated and available. Problem is the lack of leaves and weeds doesn't provide the cover it does in the vegetal season. I'm open to suggestions.
That's the plan - subject to change or suggestions. For everyone it's a change to either 1) celebrate or 2) bemoan and boycott the Inauguration. Let me see if I can give a clue as to my choice of
motivation. Well there's still a Kerry/Edwards sticker on the back of my
truck if that's a clue.

Swim night time change reminder - this month and this month only we swim
