Hi Guys
Glad you found the Heartland Board and will add my welcome to the one George posted.
This is sort of the "anticipation season" waiting for warmer weather so we can get outside again.
I'm a Cove user - not as often as I'd like - but have been going there for seven years now and each year a few more more people discover Heartland Cove. That still doesn't mean it's widely known or used. For most people who visit in warm weather there's about a 50/50 chance they'll see another user. And the area's wide enough you can sun and swim alone or if you want to socialize you can do that too - fits all styles. Most like it and come back occasionally - some aren't so fond and in that case they're not repeat visitors. Give it a try if you haven't been there.
I'm from St. Joe originally - Central High class of '62. That's 1962 not 1862 but likely sounds like a long long time ago to you.
Wanted to say hello - glad to have you come down for a swim or another Heartland event - watch the Board here for any that are announced. Most are open to guests - once in a while a House Party may be kept to members only but in general newcomers and guests are more than welcome - encouraged in fact. We've had members and guests from north of St. Joe - up in Andrew County and also southeast Nebraska so we do draw on a fairly wide area. Even Des Moines on occasion but I won't claim that's a regular thing.
Thanks for stopping by the Board - hope to see you sometime at the Cove or a club swim. Next swim date is March 18th, 2005 from 8 to 10 pm at a location in Johnson County KS - location provided by email if you contact us via hnclub@kcsky.net
Got any secret sites around Joe Town for sunning and swimming? Sorry to say I don't know of any but I'd guess there are some out of the way spots along Platte River or the 102 River east of town that'll work. May take a 15 minute walk up or downstream from some access point but I'd guess it's been done.
Best wishes
