Trip to Mexico

Hi everyone,
Back from my trip to Puerto Morales for 7 days in the sun and baring it all. Had a great time, although one day it rained (they say they only get one rainy day in February-LOL)and the next day it was windy and partly cloudy and was an exfoliating experience until I turned a chair on its side and created a wind break. I got to be at the beach from 8:30 to 4:30 almost everyday in the buff. What a great feeling. I will post some pics to the HN Yahoo group. Met some other nudists and a lot of other textiled people who were very interesting. I stayed at a small resort of only 13 rooms right on the beach and south of the village. Right next door is the Caribbeen Reef Club which used to be a couples only nudist resort. It closed last August and is now open for sale as villas. You could walk a mile south and not run into any other development and even then it was a marina. Then Magic Beach which was a mile long or more and only 5 homes there. The locals do use that beach but you will see some pretty small bathing suits even there. But you try and respect the locals. Nudity is not legal in Mexico, but everyone does not seem to mind.

The bed and breakfast I stayed at (Rancho Libertidad Sakol) had a wonderful breakfast. It was a short walk through the jungle to town for dinner in the evening. Taxis were available in a moments notice. The restuarants were all very good and I had Chinese, German, French, Mexican and Seafood. They were all reasonable and very good and tasty. No stomach problems here. The staff was very helpful.

But the best part was being nude at the beach all day and enjoying my skin and the air and water and sun on it.

Unfortunately when I returned to the remnants of a snow storm here in KC, I wanted to stay a few days longer there. Last Saturday I came down with a virus that is going around here in KC and it has laid me up, or I should say down, for the last three days. Hope I am better by the swim this Friday.

Ray

Puerto Morales

Fun to read your report - even somebody else's winter travel is good to experience. And great pictures via the club's Yahoo Photo section.

I had to look up Puerto Morales - found it on a map of the "Mayan Riviera" - boy is that a Marketing Department inspired name. But it's south of Cancun and north of Tulum - far enough from Cancun to be out of the "Mondo Condo" belt it sounds like.

The small resort aspect sounds good. And the nude beach aspect for sure. How long was the walk to the village - you mentioned walking through the jungle? I take it a well worn path. you didn't have to hack it out with a machete each evening did you? Taxi from the airport to the resort? Any need to rent a car or did you stay at the resort and move around by taxi when you wanted to venture out. Still all green VW Beetles for taxis? Whole fleet of them when we visited - all the same but at that time they were still making the old VW Beetle there in Mexico.

We visited Cancun in 1988 - Cancun was big then but not nearly as big as it is now. Also drove down to Tulum and at that time there was one small "European Beach" meaning nude beach below the cliffs where the Tulum Temple sat - and a small part of the beach on Isla Mujers was Ok off of Cancus was OK for nude use but I didn't know of the place you visited - Rancho Liberdad Sakol. Guess we drove right past that area as we rented a car for the daytrip to Tulum.

Who were you fellow residents at the resort - combination of Americans and everywhere else or mostly Europeans?

Glad you got to get to a warm sunny place. The place must be small; I can't even find a website for it - nowadays that's rare. How did you learn of it?

Dick in KC

Hi Ray,
I will be going to the Mayan Rivera next month and would like to know the name of the place you stayed next to the CRC. Also, was the beach public, as most are in Mexico? I've been to Club Orient and long to feel that warm caribbean breeze again!!!

Resort

Hi John,

Where I stayed is named Rancho Libertidad Sakol. It is a 13 room B & B Type place right on the beach. Breakfast is provided and then rates are very reasonable. Send me an email and I will give you more details. Although nudity is illegal in Mexico it is accepted if you are not disturbing others. I could walk south of the resort past the CRC now CR Villas. there are a few homes to the North towards the village, but the ferry is north of that so it is really pretty isolated. It is a short walk or taxi ride into the village and the restaurants were all vey good. I personally spent my time at the beach all day but most of the people staying there were out touring during the day, so the beach was quiet with usually only a couple of others. They have a website http://www.rancholibertad.com/
