- Arrived around 4:30 pm on my way into Kansas City
- Temps in the high 70s, clear skies with a very light breeze.
- Trail from the road very well groomed. There might have been ticks in the tall grass; but I brought bug spray and stuck to the path.
- The lake is quite high. The path simply crashes right into the water.
- Water temperature was perfect: Refreshing, but not so much that it knocks the air from your lungs. I swam out a quarter mile or so and then back.
- Found a sunny place on the trail to soak up some rays.
- Saw one fisherman on my way out and exchanged a perfunctory "Howdy".
A fine location, even better once the water subsides. Thanks for keeping us informed!
