Right now my wife and I plan on going to the cove around 11:00 AM to 12:30 tomorrow (7/22). We want to try to beat the heat. If our plans change I will try to get on here and post the new plans.
There seems to be a lot of Steves on here so I think I should do something to set me apart from the others. So I have added my wife's initial.
I will check in here again before we leave.
Hope to see you there.
Steve & F

I am new to the area and looking for a location that my wife and I can spend the day nude preferable at a lake. Is it true that this lake allows nudity for both men and women?

Well it sort of does. It is legal for women to be topless on Federal lakes. It is not actually legal for you to be naked. Right now the local authorities have not bothered anyone for being nude at the cove. So be discreet and you can probably get away with it like all of the rest of us have. There are directions on this site or you can email me if you want to know more or need clarification.

We went there today. There were more people there than we have ever seen before. People were still arriving when we left. It was a very nice day. Cool for the early part but it got pretty warm. We didn't get there until noon and left about 2:30. There were also a lot of fishermen around. Gawkers, I guess that is to be expected.

Cove

Hi Steve

Just for instance what was the count at the Cove? Not sure what the all time high has been but probably in the 8 or maybe 10 range. For years two was considered a crowd scene.

Were the boaters venturing into the Cove - in among the standing timber? If they were and lingered it was likely as you indicate - fishing with their eyes as well as their fishing tackle. It's a shared use locale so live and let live.

Thanks for the reports

Dick Williams

There were about 10 people there at one time. Us and another couple and several single men. Another couple came up on the road just as we were leaving. It was kind of nice but busy with all of the fishermen coming and going and people walking around and all.
