HEARTLAND COVE AND HEARTLAND NATURIST MESSAGE BOARD

July 9 2009 at 7:44 AM

from IP address 68.93.3.195

***This would have been posted last night but however network 54 was down past when I was ready to turn in for bed last night.*** Today my fellow Officers and I received an email from one of our former members regarding an EXTREMELY inappropriate posting to our message boards which was promptly deleted from our message boards upon receiving the email notifying us of the posting.

Let me be EXTREMELY clear about what the Heartland Naturists organization STANDS FOR and DOES NOT STAND FOR:

The Heartland Naturist is a FAMILY ORIENTED AND FAMILY FRIENDLY organization, we believe that NUDE is NOT LEWD and as a organization we HAVE NOT, DO NOT NOW, and WILL NOT EVER under my fellow Officers and my watch tolerate activities or behaviors at our events that are not in line with FAMILY ORIENTED AND FAMILY FRIENDLY NATURISM. This extends to our organization's public message boards as well. Posting that are not in line with FAMILY ORIENTED AND FAMILY FRIENDLY NATURISM will be promptly deleted upon our finding/notification regarding any posting of such. Though we do not own the land which Heartland Cove sits upon our organization has done our best and always tried to promote the same FAMILY FRIENDLY AND FAMILY ORIENTED NATURISM ideals to those who are users of Heartland Cove via our public message board and through meeting other users out at Heartland Cove.

So that it is VIVIDLY AND EXTREMELY CLEAR what THE HEARTLAND NATURIST organization and FAMILY FRIENDLY AND FAMILY ORIENTED NATURISM is about see the following points below:

FAMILY FRIENDLY AND FAMILY ORIENTED NATURISM is Naturism that is 110% WHOLESOME!!!

FAMILY FRIENDLY AND FAMILY ORIENTED NATURISM is Naturism that you can bring your kids to!!

FAMILY FRIENDLY AND FAMILY ORIENTED NATURISM is Naturism which is a way of life in harmony with nature and that holds respect for the environment!!

FAMILY FRIENDLY AND FAMILY ORIENTED NATURISM is characterized by the practice of communal/social nudity where members of families of ALL AGES are welcome!!!

FAMILY FRIENDLY AND FAMILY ORIENTED NATURISM is Naturism that encourages respect for oneself, and respect for others!!

FAMILY FRIENDLY AND FAMILY ORIENTED NATURISM is Naturism that rejects the exploitation of the human body for COMMERCIAL AND SEXUAL PURPOSES!!

FAMILY FRIENDLY AND FAMILY ORIENTED NATURISM is Naturism that does not tolerate SEXUAL ACTIVITIES or BEHAVIORS at our events from our MEMBERS, from our GUESTS, or from VISITORS from other naturist organizations at our events or the events of any other Naturist organization!!! (Our organization maintains contact with all of the organizations in the Midwest and with both of the National organizations-TNS- The Naturist Society and AANR- American Association of Nude Recreation.)

FAMILY FRIENDLY AND FAMILY ORIENTED NATURISM is Naturism where your behavior is behavior that leaves no regrets and no questions about how you or others conduct yourselves.

With that stated let it be EXPRESSLY CLEAR to THOSE OF YOU who are engaging in activities that are NOT in line with these ideals/values YOUR PRESENCE out at Heartland Cove is NOT NOW, WAS NOT BEFORE THIS, and WILL NOT EVER be in the future welcomed!!!!!!!!! TRUE NATURISTS do not condone, do not promote, do not wish to participate in or witness such activities, and do not engage in such activities in naturist settings or places or areas where there has been a tradition of naturist activities such as the Heartland Cove.

Activities that are not in line with the above stated values and ideals of Naturism run the risk of harming all local Naturists how is that you might ask. Let us take Heartland Cove for example:

Heartland Cove was homesteaded by our organization I believe it to be approaching 10 years ago by some of the members both past and present of the Heartland Naturist organization. The authorities (Clay County Parks and Recreation Rangers and Clinton and Clay County Law Enforcement) have turned a blind eye as have the owners of the land adjoining Heartland Cove for the most to our use of the Cove because we have always strived to maintain a positive image by making sure to keep Heartland cove, the land around the cove, and the roads leading into and past the Cove clean of Trash. We have strived to demonstrate and promote Naturism that is respectful and FAMILY FRIENDLY, and as something that is not harmful or causing problems. Be assured Law Enforcement is aware of our presence and use of the Heartland Cove area, while we have never been told that they monitor our message boards, conversations that myself and others who have helped myself and others to keep the roads and areas surrounding the cove and the cove itself clean have made it clear they read it. (Evidence of this was made clear in 2005 when a park ranger addressed me by name and thanked us (Heartland) for helping to keep the area clean. I had posted earlier that day that I would be out there cleaning and asked for anyone who felt so inclined to join me and assist, I was the only one who was out there that day.)

Conduct not inline with the above stated FAMILY FRIENDLY AND FAMILY ORIENTED values/ideals is the QUICKEST way for naturist to lose our use of Heartland Cove. Conduct not inline with the above stated FAMILY FRIENDLY AND FAMILY ORIENTED values/ideals is the QUICKEST way to invite NEGATIVE public attention that many Naturists if not all Naturists do not want in the form of news video cameras, and negative stories by the media about not only Heartland Cove but possibly the Heartland Naturist organization, other area Naturist resorts and clubs and about Naturism in general. Conduct not inline with the above stated FAMILY FRIENDLY AND FAMILY ORIENTED values/ideals is the QUICKEST way to reinforce the negative things that Society as a whole holds to be true about naturism when they are not anything close to the truth of what true naturists organizations such as The Heartland Naturists, Lake Edun, Prairie Haven, Sandy Lane, Show-Me Acres, and Forty Acres to name a few stand for or represent.

As Mark stated in his post Heartland Cove is public land and as such the Heartland Naturists organization has no oversight or control other than that of our members and members of the public who are interested in true and pure social naturism who frequent the area. While we cant kick people involved in unwholesome activities off the land upon which Heartland Cove sits we can do everything in our power to make it clear that such activity is not and will not be tolerated and that their presence is not welcome there. Print off a copy of the Nude Beach Etiquette available athttp://blacksbeach.org/etiquette.htm and take it with you, if you see someone engaging in inappropriate behaviors SPEAK UP and tell them to knock it off, hand them a copy of the nude beach etiquette that you printed out and hopefully brought with you. This alone will usually be more than enough to make most people engaging in unwholesome conduct want to leave and not come back. If that does not send them packing at that point there is really not much you can do that does not involve getting law enforcement involved. While we would rather not get law enforcement involved if everything else has been tried to make those engaging in inappropriate behavior leave you may not have any other choice as we (the Heartland Naturists organization) does not advocated creating a physical confrontation.

We would invite any of the cove users as well as any of those who view the message boards and anyone else interested in pure social naturism to come and join us at one of our monthly swims Please see our Swim webpage off of the main HN website ( www.heartlandnaturists.com ) for more information.

If you are looking for outdoor activities, my fellow Officers and I highly recommend visiting Lake Edun. We can as an organization conclusively say that you will not find non family friendly kinds of activity tolerated at Lake Edun either and you will be supporting naturist organization that is also affiliated with The Naturist Society and whose primary purpose is to advance the values and ideals of WHOLESOME naturism.

Those who wish to pervert and make WHOLESOME NATURISM into something that it is not CAN and WILL GET the message that they are not wanted and will not be tolerated if we ALL do our part to stand up for FAMILY FRIENDLY NATURIST values and ideals and make it clear what we stand for. If we dont want to see Heartland Cove disappear we have no other choice but to do so.

DO as I say!!!

July 9 2009, 8:07 AM

I was shocked to see our comments removed from this board. I guess this is a "Do as I say " board. first off sex is as natural as life itself. If you so old you can't do it anymore that dose'nt mean others cannot.

The first person that comes to me and tells me to stop something is going to get knocked on his ass, this is public land! and if you want to bring the police into this that blade cuts both ways.

NO one ever said anything about having sex in front of kids or any thing like that. You might be interested to know that we have gotten e-mails from others here that are interested these things too.

Since it is your message board you can of couse censor it! But as far as the cove goes, either share it or everyone will lose it.

im sure you dont mean that

and im sure if you been a nudist for awhile you two are aware of all the etiquette

trash is a big concern at any location we lived in calif and cleaned up after ourselves
and most people did thank goodness it was at the clothed beaches where it was full of junk.

as for sex yes some people at the california nude beaches tried and
did get caught most of the time others would approach people who didnt
know the etiquette and simply asked them not to in order to keep the beach nude

im not sure what goes on at north but i hope people wouldnt risk it as tempting as
it might be , we need to keep the beach nude and water patrol walk the shore and do
patrol it on the water

its just a nice thing not to do it

Nude Use vs Do Anything Use

July 9 2009, 3:38 PM

Nude use of public lands is a fragile thing. It's not sanctioned anywhere in this state. It's sometimes permitted but only as long as it doesn't get on the radar of the local community.

One sure thing that attracts the attention of law enforcement, the media and the community is overt sexual activity. When nude use areas are lost it's typically due to a few inconsiderate folks who deem it their right to make their private behavior public.

Nobody denies that such activity between adults is enjoyable and wholesome in the right venue but the right venue is a private setting. If there's an inherent right to engage in sex publicly might not a city park or ones own front or back yard serve as well as a fragile, isolated beach on public land?

For sure the posts on this board are monitored and the attention likely to fall on Heartland Cove will very possibly end all use of the Cove.

For 12 years our mostly responsible use has seen the local law enforcement agencies give us considerable latitude and "quiet enjoyment" but that is in jeopardy for twenty minutes of outdoor pleasure practiced by a few.

Take it elsewhere would be the best course and a course that would not threaten the only commonly used nude beach in this part of the midwest. Twelve years to build the Cove as a place to sun and swim. Twenty minutes to destroy it. Sort of a bad and entirely selfish ratio.

Re: Nude Use vs Do Anything Use

as a former le officer and ret fed officer and investigator in good standing
i have enjoyed nude beaches for several years. never took it for granted that
they would always be as such.

people have many reasons for enjoying nude activities most people simply do not like
clothes. i have neuropathy and clothes have a tendency aggravate it. similar to sand
paper rubbing against your skin. i enjoy the air but not the sun LOL

beach rules and regulations are for the most part adhered to.

i dont think they will kick us out of up north. george does one heck of a job
keeping that area clean trust me i was with him when he loaded up the truck full
of nasty smelling junk and trash from the ditching. im sure they appreciate that
and those who pick up trash on the way out.

if we can keep this nude location free from any illicit activities it will remain
a nice and safe place to visit.

letting those know what is expected out of them when they visit such locations
is the norm. and to any mature person , should be welcomed... we saw people in calif approach others when the activity was not appropriate.

a very few will continue even after being warned and law enforcement are aware that this will happen and deal with those few and we will continue on as we have in the past. keeping nude locations
clean and safe.

Re: Nude Use vs Do Anything Use

Although I did not communicate with the Heartland Board itself about some of the recent posts, my views are that some of them should be deleted, and they have. I was aware that another former board member had expressed them so I knew they would be heard. I once monitored this group was had to decide it was time to shut down a thread or delete a post. I don't miss this as I truly am very respectful of others views and freedom of speech.

All that said, if you monitor what is going on across America as it relates to nude recreation - the one common theme that is used by those that wish to stop such activity is sexual behavior and sexual activities. Statistically, sexual activities have been proven to be much less than those making the effort to stop nude recreation try to make them out to be, but it still plays in the mind of regulators, law enforcement and those that with decide to end or permit nude recreation at the location. One of my favorite places to go, San Onofre in San Diego is under seize as we speak - and sexual activity by a few of the thousands that visit this beach is one of the main point focal points to stop nude recreation there.

So - if you want the Cove to continue - I would suggest you keep it free of sexual activities. I know I for one will not hesitate to call law enforcement should I encounter such activity and the individuals do not respond to the polite request to stop. It must be done in my opinion and I am not going to enter a physical altercation with anyone - it does not solve anything.

Re: DO as I say!!!

Bill,

Is it too much to ask you to pioneer your own place to have sex in public? Smithville is a big lake, and there are other lakes in the area. With all of the online maps and Google Earth, it shouldn't be too dificult to find a few place that may be suitable for sex outdoors. A few hours looking at maps and a day in the field and you should be able to find someplace.

Why do you have to rain on the nudist's parade.

You sound like a real jerk! It's too bad that one or two jerks can ruin something for everyone else.

I support HN's stance on the Cove.

Nudity does NOT equal sex. We naturists have it hard enough anyway because of people who choose to engage in such behavior. There is a time and a place for such activity, and in public isn't one of them.

Thanks George for bringing this to everyone's attention.

This horse has already been beat down, but that said...

I have taken my young child there a number of times. Yes, that's right, a kid. Who does not need to see anyone getting it on. Maybe my child is the only one who has ever been there, but I doubt it.

And thank you to those who keep the trails clean, they are wonderful this year, it has been a pleasure to go there.

Not the only one

July 11 2009, 2:49 AM

You are not the only who takes your child up there with you my family has gone up there numerous times over the years and we know of another family that takes their children there as well, and my wife and I have met about 5 or 6 couples out there that have children that would come out during the non school time of the year but since it was during the school year their kids were not with them. So there is probably in the neighborhood of at least 9 families including yours that I personally know of that use the Cove though I can't speak to the freuquency of their kids visiting except for my own family.

Has anyone been attacked

July 16 2009, 12:46 AM

Jade,

To the best of my knowledge no one has ever been attacked by anyone or anything while out at the Cove since our organization and its members homesteaded the place. I am presuming you are posting this question in response to the threat that was made earlier in the thread.

DELETED POST

July 16 2009, 8:24 AM

THIS POSTING WAS NOT DONE BY JENNIFER THIS POSTING WAS DONE BY BILL WHO SPARKED THIS THREAD AND RESPONDED WITH THREATS TOWARDS ANYONE WHO TELLS HIM AND HIS WIFE OR WHOEVER ELSE HE IS OUT THERE WITH TO KNOCK OFF WHAT THEY CLAIM THEY ENJOY GOING OUT TO THE COVE TO DO WHICH IS MOST DEFINITELY NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY AND FAMILY ORIENTED NATURISM AND WHICH OUR ORGANIZATION MOST DEFINITELY DOES NOT APPROVE OF.

BILL HAD POSTED CLAIMING THERE HAD BEEN AN ATTACK OUT AT THE COVE BEFORE, POLICE RECORDS AND COUNTY RECORDS SHOW NO ATTACKS OR ISSUES OUT AT THE COVE.

THIS POSTING IS SO THE REMAINING PART OF THE THREAD MAKES SENSE.

DUE TO THE FACT THE POSTING BY JENNIFER WAS A LIE IT HAS BEEN DELETED.

Not sure about your post

July 16 2009, 10:47 AM

My family and I have been going to the cove for over 5 years now. We (the Heartland Naturists Organization and the Heartland Officers both past and present) to the best of our knowledge have never heard of any attacks or anything like what was posting. I don't have the time at this moment to look into it further but this evening I will do some further checking later on this evening.

I've been going to the Cove for 8 years and have never heard such a thing either. Maybe it happened somewhere else at Smithville Lake. I would think there would be a story about it somewhere if it was true, if so, someone could please post a link here to the story.

Jennifer's Posting

July 16 2009, 4:33 PM

To all who are viewing this thread, the posting by Jennifer is actually a posting by none other than Bill posing as somebody he is not I have traced his IP address from his earlier postings and traced the IP address from "Jennifer's" posting. Evidently he is finding it rather comical to post to the message boards and try to cause problem and try to make it so people would not want to go out to the Cove so that he and those who would rather pervert Naturism can have there way out there without those of us who support Family Friendly and Family Oriented Naturism being in the way.

I did not have the time earlier to check this information but have now and have exposed Bill's little ruse for what it is which is nothing but a lie.
