Yes you can boat into the Cove though I would caution you to be very careful boating into the Cove as there are many trees and tree stumps that with the water level being at the 865FT level will be either just right below the waters surface or completely submerged. If you come in from the South side of the beach closest to the W Boat Launch there is a sand bar that runs out into the water at about a 45 degree angle to the beach (from the point of the south beach out at a 45), so long as you are out near the tree line (like 10 to 15 FT from the visible trees) you shouldn't have any issues with running into it. North Side of the Cove the only thing I would caution you about is right off the point of the North side of the beach there is a bunch of barb wire fencing that is down in the mud and goes out about 15FT into the Lake best as I can tell, follow the tree line again and you should avoid that. Where you see the little secondary clearing between the point and the main beach (when the water is down enough for there to be a good amount of beach) basically in a direct line out from that there is a field of lotuses that you will run into depending on the water depth they may or may not be under water, the water was a good foot lower last month when my family and I was last able to make it out there.
Hope the information helps and anybody else that has boated in feel free to chime in.
