Good friends and good people close by, that's what makes a road trip great. So if thats the case, we had an awesome time.
Vancouver is always a challenge when your from Kelowna, but this trip to the "Big City" was good. The fact that we won made it better. Had a couple of "Jokers" coming up to me and sayng "BOOO" to my chest I think (hmmm....maybe it was the jersey they where booing.....Whatever)...had to explain that no....they are NOT "Boo's" they are BOOBs...but after we got all that cleared up, the fans were fun.
Off to Portland....that was a great place to watch a hockey game. We got there in time for warm up and sat by 30-40 high school students and after the little ribbing that we received, a girl about grade 11 asked where Kelowna was from....typical reply was B.C. the non typical response to that statement was...WAIT, this is Funny......What state is that in? HAHAHAHA...we then moved!
Portland fans have go to be some of the friendliest people I have met. Shocked to see 10 Rockets fans all standing in their rink but the first people to come up and say "Hey good to see you here cheering for your team" no wonder they have been there for 30 years. EVERYONE is wearing some kind of Hawks gear. Nice to see.
Off to Everett....We 4 arrive at Woddy and Kyoko's house for an incredible dinner and a few wobbly pops (cause Woody insists that we drink alot)and super conversations. Off to the rink we go.The reception there was WAYYYY better then it has ever been before. The fans that we have met over the 3 years of Tips Hockey were like catching up with family. Heaven help any fan that said something nasty to us, The REAL Tips fans were straightening them out in a New York Second. needless to say, we had a good time. Thanks to all the fans from Everett for the warm welcome.
Woody and Kyoko....what can we say but Thank You, Thank You, Thankyou....Please come on Sunday so we can return the favour. I promise to cook Koko (HAHAHA)....I will have the Phone in my hand as soon as I hear from you.
M & L ....you two are great folks and incredible fans...thankyou again for the offer....we might just take you up on it for the second round.
Kristi and Honey (haha)...great to see you sorry to hear about your "headache" kiddo....have fun in P.G.
Fire Laine , Kinger and Chris....love talking to you guys and catching up on all that is new and old, can't wait to see you all again real soon.
Allan and Anita...you two are the best. Thanks for taking us on a fun road trip for our anniversary. We had a fantastic time.
No you don't need a passport yet to get into the States, yet that is. If you are born in Canada and have a birth certificate and a valid drivers lisence, you can get through no problem.
Have fun in California, if you visit Mickey, say hi for me.
