At one time I leased a pond on old hwy 12 in vidor for 200 a year family membership and it was vantastic fishing bass and crappie. My buddy was a diver and he had extra tanks so we dove and looked around in it several times. they had some of the biggest blue gills in it I had ever seen wish I could still lease it. I learned alot about crappie on the beds that I think about even now when fishing them on other lakes where the water is not so clear, that helps me to have more success finding catchable fish. Well the closes I can come to that now is in rosecity on the way to beamont texas there is a sand pit on side of ih 10 called boom town with water slides on it and for 2 dollors to launch and 5 dollors to fish you can go fishing there all day and the fishing is perty good lots of smaller bass there but I have caught my five 14 inchers everytime I've been. The launch can handle my 20 foot boat and the fish seem to be always biting so for. every now and then there i have seen jet skies all over the lake glad I was not fish those days. Every so often there is night fishing tournaments held there from time to time. If you want to check it out there phone# is in the book and you can call them to see if you would like to do a story on the lake. They also have an rv park on I10 side of lake so if you are around that area look north of hiway and east of beamont and you can,t miss it. it

I too have fished the sand pits in the Rose City area. Some of the most fun fishing I have every done. We were members of a club in Rose City and would go there and fish all day. Loved to fish during the spawn and spot the fish on the beds. The water was always clear and you could see big fish all the time. I might give the Boom Town lake a try. We have wondered if the fishing was any good there. Have fun fishing. Mike
