My two cents

Thanks Mr.F for this Site and your never dying wealth of info.
When I purchased my CJ car last year there was a piece of scrap metal bolted to the front of the right head. Exhaust was leaking out of the gap between the head and scrap metal.
This is first 429 I have owned so I made a lot of calls and was told by one "expert" that the heads had been off and flipped end for end and that this where the Thermactor pipe should go.
Finally an Old Timer at a Ford dealer took the time to look it up in his parts book a showed me that a "Cup Plug" goes in this hole.
After carefully cleaning I found the outside ring of the old cup plug and extracted it with a Screw Extractor. I looked at the back of the head and it has a "Cup plug" in it too. As a matter of fact both heads do. So not only did I not have to pull off the heads and "end for end them " I didn't have buy a Thermactor system that I didn't need. Sorry about the long story but this might save somebody else the same aggravation.
