Early 71 tilt Wheels used the 70 (D0) Tilt Ignition Housing that had a small square hole, with a plastic cover over it, at the Turn Signal Lever. Later 71, and all 72-73 used the 71 (D1)Tilt Housing the had no hole /cover. Dont know what the cut off date was.
71-73 Mustang Tilt Columns interchange, in spite of what you may have heard. The only difference between all of them was that they had different shaped wire connectors on them. All you have to do is use a good wire diagram, and just change the connector on them. Just a few things I learned aver the years,in my searches.
