This could very well be. I don't remember the choke type for sure, but this would seem to make sense. The white/black wire has several fusible links in it between the alternator and the plug on the alternator harness. A friend of mine has a 73 Mach 1 and I can check with him on this ( I haven't been able to get hold of him yet). I do know that all of the Mustangs that I found in the yard that still had this part of the harness intact were all 73s. That is why I was beginning to suspect that it might be a model year variation since I don't have copies of the 73 schematics. Too bad I didn't look closer at the choke on the Cougar. Maybe it had something to do with having to stand on top of a fire ant hill to get at the parts I needed. Thanks again.
