I receintly added the Tach/Speedo and three guage cluster to my 71. I also replaced the dash wiring and engine harness at that time as well, to make it a "factory correct" installation. My problem is that my old underhood harness had a seperate round single wire connector for the AC compressor. This new harness (out of a 1972) doesn't have this. Did Ford incorporate this into the Engine guage feed harness? I have one coming this week, but I'm not sure if it will contain the AC compressor wire. It looks like there is on additional wire to the connector (the one that routes to the temp sensor, oil pres., and tach/coil). According to the wiring charts and my car, it is a red/yellow swirl stripe (or black/red stripe) that connects to the AC compresser. I think one of these is the "extra" in the engine guage feed harness.
Is this the case?
