if you want an early 442 convertible. this is probably the only one left on the planet like it. Fremont CA. plant built for Calif., sold in CA., and one owner family in calif it's whole life. that means it is a SMOG equipped car(air injection).not only is ALL the smog equip still there. this is basically an untouched original!! besides one respray(paint)by the local OLDS Dealer in 1978(doumented).and the motor being rebuilt 15 yrs ago(only used 5000, miles since). it is ALL ORIG!!!.all orig SUPER nice interior.2nd top.normal minor engine pieces replaced (alternator , distributor cap & wires , fuel pump , carb(original in trunk) , belts and sparkplugs , lower raditor hose , and fan clutch).ALL ELSE 100% ORIGINAL!!!!!! Here is a list of options:
A01 & Ao2 - tinted windshield and side windows
A31 - Power side windows
A39 - deluxe front & rear seat belts
B85 - chrome door edge guard mouldings
C60 - Air conditioning (includes Y76 heavy duty cooling equipment)
J50 - pedal ease Power brakes
M40 - Turbo hydro-matic automatic 3 speed transmission
N40 - Roto-ease power steering
N95 - simulated wire wheel covers
convenience & enjoyment package (group 1)
Plus as mentioned - California emmisions equipment
gold body with black top and interior
i just got of the phone with the General Motors history centers Listed 1967 olds 442 expert. and he estimates ONLY 20 1967 442 convertibles built for calif(with smog) ordered with a/c , electric windows , and m-40(TH400)- not to mention All the other options. including some i havent found on RPO list (passenger side view mirror), or checked yet(posi or special order axle ratio).
and when we discussed the fact that it is a 110k survivor. he said it was "probably the only one left in like cond. on the planet".(i had estimated a hand full or less) and that is of ANY color,or color combo.if you buy now. and lost. you could not replace for the $32k. and this is a potential $100k car in not too many yrs. , this car would probably have brought $45-$50 at 2006 Barrett-Jackson auction. At 2007 B-J ,who knows? Money(paper currency) is designed to go down in value. hard assets like this(collectibles and real estate)appreciate. you cannot lose money on an investment quality car like this. and i have been collecting for 35 yrs. all kinds of vehicles. i know that early olds 442's are one of the fastest apprecietting cars on the list. and one of HARDEST to find in original condition. i have ,and have had many super rare cars. muscle/pony cars are THE hardest to find in original condition. it is almost inpossible to find a survivor musclecar like this. and this year with these options. YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER. 1967 olds 442 convertible Total production -3080. with auto trans -1807. current high NADA value 40k (they are ALWAYS low & behind) and it is VERY hard to compare a survivor to those values as they are reflecting restored cars. and the restored cars seldom (if EVER) have all the original sheetmtal and components. they are just new and shiny) . the real sophisticated collectors are realising that the original survivors are becoming the most valuable and sought after. they are basically IRREPLACIBLE. anyone can restore a car, or buy a restored one. remenber this is a 99.99% rust free 97% orig. SUPER low production CALIF original.as stated before by experts. the amount of 1967 442 verts built with calif emmisions eguipment and with a/c and power windows alone was questimated to be about 20. when you through in the color alone . besides other options . it was probably the only one as built when NEW!!!. let alone virtually untouched 39 years later! car is located in sunny southern california. i am not always at home so if you inquire be patience .i will get back to you. p.s. you can feel free to have any expert inspect this 442. and i welcome it. but please find one who truly knows early (1964-67) 442's .and i will assure you. there are not very many who do. and this car is everything that has been represented and described. i trully wish i could keep this, as i would really like to see what she would bring at B-J 2007. so hurry or i might change my mind and make it happen. cpferrara@sbcglobal.net send for pics. and PLEASE don't be a photo collector. i am VERY BUSY. do not have time for games/non-serious.
