Don't forget about tagging onto national meetings
by
As people think about possible regional workshops or meetings...
The Association of Science-Technology Center's annual conference is this week in Minneapolis, MN. The next American Association of Museums 2004 conference, Association of Children's Museums 2004 conference and the American Zoo and Aquarium Association's 2004 conference will all be in New Orleans, LA. The International Drama, Theatre, Education Association holds its meeting in Toronto in 2004. There are also the regional meetings of museum associations, such as New England Museum Association, or Southwestern Museum Association.
These are large scale meetings that can and have accommodated IMTAL-sponsored events. Tagging a special interest meeting for one or two days onto any of there can be a very successful idea. Often institutions are more likely to pay for you to go if they get two meetings for one, and it often happens that people have to go to one of these meetings anyway, so they couldn't make an additional IMTAL workshop.
