Conflict resolution and museum theatre
by
Hello,
I read your posting and was intrigued. My colleague and I have recently published a guide called Teen Theatre: recipes for Sucess through the University of california, Berkeley, which has a lesson plan about using theatre for conflict resolution. The lesson is simply an adaptation of the work of Augusto Boal for a teen audience. It's being used by Youth Alive which is a national program in the U.S. to create safe havens for at-risk youth in museums. I recommend checking out the work of Augusto Boal for adaptation and application in your own situation. If you are not aware of his work, I would particularly point you to the concepts of legislative theatre and to his book Theatre of the Oppressed. I wish you the very best with this important work!
