My name is Chris Bucholtz; I'm 36, I live in San Jose, California (probably moving soon to Alameda) and I'm the Editor of Semiconductor Manufacturing Magazine by trade. I'm trying to shift my writing career away from electronic doodads and more toward history, and toward that end I have a couple of articles sitting in the offices of Flight Journal for future publication. Before my journalism career, I served six years in the Navy, four aboard U.S.S. Gray (FF-1054), the World's Greatest Frigate, as a Bosun' Mate. I'm getting married in June to my college sweetheart Elizabeth. And yes, I do wear a necktie every day. I like 'em, especially when they have airplanes on them. I have about 300 in the collection.

Modeling-wise, I build 1:72 planes almost exclusively. I hold a bunch of titles: IPMS Region 9 Coordinator; Secretary and Editor of the Silicon Valley Scale Modelers' newsletter since 1992; Creative Director of Obscureco Aircraft; past chairman of the IPMS/USA National Convention and Contest (1998); Aviation Editor, Internet Modeler. Now, where did all my modeling time go?

The photo is from 2002 aboard "Aluminum Overcast," the EAA's B-17G. I had the pleasure of taking Sherman Gillespie, a former B-17 pilot, along as a "member of my media staff" on a press flight. It was my first B-17 flight, and his first B-17 flight in 58 years!
