NSW sounds like an interesting place, but how'd you wind-up Down Under?

I live in Fresno, CA and it's OK...not much for culture but it has what we need to live comfortably.
If I hit the Lotto though, I'd be moving to someplace with a little less heat and a little more scenery. A trip to Australia would definitely be in order also.
