I first saw Jana on television a couple of years ago, playing against Spain in the Fed Cup. She had a shock win over Conchita Martinez and I was very impressed by her style and the way that she played.

I saw Jana first in her second-round match at the Hamburg Rothenbaum-Tournament in 1995 on TV. As a 18-year-old qualifier she won sensational against 6th seeded Brenda Schultz-McCarthy from the Netherlands in straight sets and she won my heart! Since that day (it was Jana's second main draw on the tour after Leipzig 1994) I wait yearning for every matchresult! Keep on going, Jana!

First time I saw Jana was in a first round match at Wimbledon 1996 against Mary Jo Fernandez..Jana lost 6-0 6-0 but I liked her serious personality and her big serve. She has a constant effort to retrieving even things out of reach. When she goes to net she knows what to do. Very neat tennis player.
