Actually, the voice of reason would wonder if two companies that run, traditionally, an hour and a half away from each other can be considered competitors. And the voice of reason would understand that normally there's respect in the wrestling business, and you don't do things like that to fellow promotions that you're not in competition with. It's not like this is one of those WV or PA "turf wars" that get so much run on this board. That's what the voice of reason would think.
Now, I'll do what you did, but just turn it on it's head. Don't eat fruit loops, don't run AIW, and don't wear whities. I would call what MCW is doing not competition, but panic. Outdoing someone by offering your product for free isn't competition. It's sitting around knowing your draws have been steadily declining since the Anniversary show, in a town where they are the only game in it. It's knowing that another promotion is coming off the best show Cleveland has seen in years, so they're trying to piggyback off of that.
I don't care what promotions AIW runs. If it benefits the fans, great. They may not even give a crap about what MCW is doing. I really don't either. I was just voicing my opinion that it's disrespectful. But hey, if a fan drives a three hour round trip to save $5, more power to him. I'm sure it'll be a decent show. As I said, my opinion was not based on the promotion (if it works, good for them) or the roster. It's shitty timing, and those guys would probably admit it if you asked them.
