Well do you know what ROH pays their "green Kids"? not a damn thing. You have to still be there and set up and break down, and you might be able to be lucky to job till you are ready. And still they don't pay much.
Many feds that have schools do not pay their locals out of the gate. i have to agree with that. And I think it is part of paying your dues. It keeps guys in check that want to go to wrestling school for 6 months and start taking bookings and call themselves a wrestler without finishing. Or guys that are ready to work, it shows that you still have to continue to work.
If you got paid right away, hats off to you bud. But you are one of the lucky ones. I am sure plentty of guys on this board will say the same thing.
I have been to many workshops over the years, and guys like Al Snow,Tatanka, Chris Kanyon and Eugene have all talked about getting paid. Eugene did not get his first payday untill his 4th year.
Like I said, this is my opinion, and I am not hating the fact that you got paid sooner than others.
