Wow, quite a bit has gone on here over my past couple days of being sick.
Actually, The Judge himself, last night, told me there was a bit of Judge and IWA bashing going on on the board. LOL. So I resided to check it out, and as U know me, respond with my true thoughts.
And as I said it was just a "bit" of bashing. Because wile I seen a bit of bashing I found most of it to be just honest opinions. And honest opinions, stated in a professional way, is never a problem with me.
But my thoughts:
* Do I have some on the show who are not of the 100% quality? Well first let me say this. 100% quality in a indy show and 100% in a WWE event are two separate things. But having said that there are certainly different qualities of indy wrestlers. And I agree I sometimes let wrestlers on the shows that are not Matt Mayson or Cody Hawk caliber. But really, how many guys in Ohio are? And I know most of these comments are not about my mid level crew or my top level crew, but about my lower level crew. And without using any names let me state I DO know and recognize who those guys are. And Y I let them on the show is my business. But let me just say this. As a elder statesmen in the wrestling scene I have changed a lot. And I do believe with time many of U reading this will. And I now see that we all need something in our lives to make us feel special. And to be quite honest, many of my, ummmm, lowest tear wrestlers, have nothing else besides wrestling going on in their lives to make them feel special. And I choose not to take that away from them. Be mad at me if U will. Think I am weak because of this if U will. But this is just how I am.
Now the thing at this point is that I, as the promoter, have to find a way to use these guys without compromising the entire show. And I try hard at this. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. But hell, without mentioning any names, my bottom of the barel guy gets a good pop now mainly because of a idea I gave him. True, he can not work a lick. But I have been threw matches with him. And I work with him a lot so others on my shows do not have to. But anyways, I have got threw matches with him that have past as matches. And others could as well if they just looked at it as - What can I do to pull a match off with this guy? - instead of - I am to good to have to wrestle this guy. U see wrestling should be a challenge to all the wrestlers. And wile this may not be a "good" challenge. It is a challenge. So maybe some of the workers on this board could try to take a bit of that attitude. No one wants to work a sub par talent every knight. But every now and then it might be interesting to see if U can take crackers and tern it into a good meal. That my friends takes real talent.
* Someone said I do not take pride in my shows. Wrong! Why do U think I get so mad when things do not go rite? And just because I do not stay at the curtain and watch every match does not mean I do not see most of them. The magic of taping and Facebook and Youtube and so on. Trust me I keep up on things as much as I can.
* Ok, lets talk about The Judge, since it was Judge bashing that got me on this thread to begin with. LOL
Do I think The Judge is the best wrestler on my roster. No. Do I think he does not belong on the roster? I think he is more than good enough. And wile he is not Mat Mayson or Kody Hawk, or even Rick Ramsey or Ron Mathis, I feel that he can put in a credible performance with just about anyone who has a clue. He seldom gives me any problems. In fact he has proved to me time and again that he loves wrestling and will even go above and be-ond(backstage) to make the show better. Rather that means presenting booking ideas. Setting up the sound. Whatever. Quite frankly I wish I had a half dozen more like him. Even if he does have big, floppy, protruding ears and a funny face. Sory Judge. I know U are reading this and I just could not resist. LOL
Look, U guys had your say and now I have had mine. We do not have to think alike. And probably never will. But I do want to say a HUGE thank U to all those who have helped make the IWA better. Past and present. U know who U are.
