My problems with the indies have always been the fact even if you become Kid Friendly like wwe to boost ticket sales, your still missing out on the fact that YOUR NOT WWE. The word "Ass" is about as Cutting as you can get, but you dont have the drama/storyline that WWE has. Not even close. Its usually "I hate you, I hate you too","I Want Title belt!" "We're underdogs and we're gonna lose till we win!" or absolutley no reason to fight at all except to win. Instead of being like RAW or Smackdown, you have a two hour long "Superstars", "Heat", or "Velocity". Standable, yes. But for your target audience, usually kids to teens.... It's where your gonna lose them after two-three shows if not the first. Sure it's cool to see local wrestling if WWE or TNA's not around, but theres usually nothing to captivate kids on coming back. Usually its just the same card with worker switches.
I myself can't watch local shows anymore as a fan instead of just a worker and get excited for the next one. |
